I'd just like to say congratulations to Ron, Joe, Greg, and the entire UMSS crew on all that they have accomplished in a few short years. I wish that we had a similar series in southern MN and northern IA to follow. I really like what they have done with the TSCS as well. A little bullring like Worthington would be a perfect place to have as a home track for something like that. If they started something like that I'd put two of them together and go have some fun with a quarter of the expense it takes to run an ASCS type car! Somebody get going on that please!?!?

I think the Traditional cars will take off in the next few years all over the place. At our meeting Ron did say that several tracks have been calling about starting them at their tracks. Just have the promoter call Ron and get the ball rolling. I know that everyone was concerned that these motors just wouldn't hold up but a couple have been tore apart after the first season and they look just like they did when they were put together. Ron's goal is to someday have a Traditional National race and draw cars from all over for a weekend of topless racing. Would be amazing to see a hundred of these cars all together for something like that. The key is that everyone has to abide by the same set of rules or it will turn into a mess. The rules we have now are working very well making everyone pretty much equal when it comes to the motors. Brand new motors for these are in the 6000 range or you can convert a B mod motor really cheap, just convert it to alcohol, get a used roller, bolt it in and go have fun.

That's exactly right! Stick to the rules and don't waiver! Look at what has happened to the supposedly cheap 305 class running down here at Jackson. I guess someone from the non-wing group down here tried to get UMSS to switch to their rules or some sort of compromise..eg. injection. However, and good for the UMSS, they "stuck to their guns" and said no. Maybe the group down here should go the other direction instead?.?. Anyway, it would be fun to give one of those cars a try sometime!

I've got a second car now, come on up and give it a try. I think you've got enough experience to be able to handle it

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your kind words about the UMSS. Nothing is perfect but I think they're doing a great job and I look forward to racing with them again in 2012.
Isn't it interesting that you wrote a positive comment but received little feedback but if you would have wrote a negative comment than you would have receivd lots of replies. Oh well, that's the way the world turns. Just wanted you to know your positive comment did not go without notice.
Good luck to you this year.
Thanks,
Chad Patterson
