We are looking at running the Knoxville Rules 305 cars at Bloomfield, IA this season. Right now I am looking at 2+ races. I would like direct feedback from the owners and/or drivers interested in running. We are running Saturdays this season so they would be on Knoxville's off nites for the 305's and/or at the county fair race (tentatively July 12), or one of the other scheduled "special" nites. I also have more information to pass along to each of you after you email.

PLEASE: email me directly with your contact information. [email protected]

We also have a facebook page started for information at Race Dirt Bloomfield also check out www.heartlandmotorsports.com for news and on the Bloomfield section of their forum.

Please feel free to re-post this to another forum and/or email a link to me and I will.

Thanks for your time, Chris Eggers

Isn't Bloomfield fairly close to Burlington? Is this an effort to compete with their class, or will you be running on their off nights?

~100 miles from BF to WBurl..... ~75miles from BF to KVille......We will be using Knoxville rules as I mentioned. Knoxville and Burlington already run on the same nite so it seems there are two seperate groups of cars and two sets of rules in place. Burlington cars are welcome to come and run if/when they have an opportunity, as long as they fall within the rules of course. But to further answer your question....no, no attempt to compete with Burlington. I would have chosen their rules had my intentions been to draw cars away from there. Thanks for your interest. Good luck this year. Chris

SOUNDS GREAT .......DO YOU INTEND TO ENFORCE THE KNOXVILLE TIRE RULE ?BECAUSE THAT WILL STOP A LOT OF OTHER CARS FROM COMING TO BLOOMFIELD

I dont understand, here is a promoter trying to help the class out by having some more races for the 305's which you agree is great, But then you still bitch about a rule. I believe it has been written twice now Knoxville Rules!!!! Trust me Burlington doesn't change there rules to let more cars show up, Which I might add is the way it should be.

If you all would get your shit together you would have a car count. Id pass on the knoxville rules and run what will be most affordable and get a car count.

For some reason I thought that Bloomfield was closer. My bad, I am not from Iowa and I thought (per a conversation that I had with a fellow that races at Burlington) about possibly running in Bloomfield with another class. It is cool to have more options for the 305 cars. Good luck to you folks, maybe we will try it at some point. The Burlington cars are legal for Knoxville, other than tires, right?

let cars use any medium tie by anycompany. Cars can run used tires from 360 and 410. Very simple if you use Hoosier at knoxville you can run Hoosier at your race. if you Am. Racer at Burlington, you can run A. Racer at your race.

Can someone tell me what is different in the rules? All I have seen is that you can run dry sump and a crank driven water pump at Knoxville and you can't anywhere else. The only thing these items do is help the life of the engine. Good things as far as I'm concerned. Also, as an FYI, a Midwest / Burlington legal 305 won the championship at Knoxville this year, and from my memory, there are only 1 or 2 guys running a dry sump. If some of you would spend half as much time working on your cars as you do whining on a message board, you might be able to compete. Or, if you don't even have a car, don't worry about it. Maybe the reason the Knoxville 305s are faster is because they have their act together and don't spend all their time complaining on here.

With it only being a few races the important thing is that they are 305's and nothing larger. As i have posted before we have ran both 34 and knoxville in 2011 and won a feature at both places with a 34 legal motor package. If they want to spend 3000 on there cylinder heads let em. That's why they won't take off, and once you get racing they are all pretty even. You don't have to have a $15,000.00 or $18,000 engine if you have the right person assemble and fuel these things. Sorry about rambling but just tired of the whining seems like it attracks this class with every post.

Q11 you are correct they need to spend more time in the shop!!

Wow, that is different. From what I see a couple of guys, including myself, asked a couple of questions, for information purposes, and others think that we are complaining. I just asked about race dates and engine legalities. Like I said before, and I can only speak for myself, I hope that they end up with a great program out there. I was unaware that they were 100 miles apart, and we may try and make a show or two. That is all.

Some guys get on here to hear the head rattle and serve no useful purpose. Hope you get it off the ground. More racing is always good.

Thanks for all the interest. I will address the tire question but we have a couple other things to work out first. Yes we WILL be teching to make sure they are 305's. Keep the driver/owner emails coming. Thanks, Chris

I really like the idea of Bloomfield racing 305s on off nights of Knoxville.

That gives us the opportunity to get needed seat time for our young racer within a 2 hour drive.

I will comment that Cody Ambers driving the MIDSTATE MACHINE 92c will make each event. I cannot speak for Alan Ambers 93a. He may be running their 360, if not I think they would be at Bloomfield also.

How many other will be racing at Bloomfield?

Let's all work together and make this work.
