Brian Brown charges in Knoxville yet again

By Gary Thomas

Knoxville, Iowa - June 5, 2007....Grain Valley, MO driver Brian Brown continued the trend of coming from the back of the pack at Knoxville Raceway as he did it yet again this past Saturday night during Knoxville Championship Cup Night #8. As qualifying continues to be a bit off, Brian and the team have hit some great set-ups when it comes time to race.

A field of 32 410 winged sprint cars converged at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday and Brian’s fastest lap of 15.959 put the Ditzfield Transfer, American Compressed Steel, Housby Trucks, Big Ox, Maxim Chassis No. 21 16th quickest in the qualifying order.

"Blackjack" then started from the front row in the opening heat and he had no worries as he brought home the win aboard the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, Yeager’s Harley, Hostiowa.net, Wolfe Eye Clinic No. 21. With qualifying 16th, however, it stuck Brian back in the seventh row for the feature. So far this season he has shown that it doesn’t matter where he starts though, and this night was no different. "Blackjack" was up on the wheel and carved his way up to fourth by the finish.

The week ahead: This coming Friday will see Brian compete at a local show in Cameron, MO before heading to Knoxville on Saturday night for another evening of Championship Cup competition. Brian has moved up to second in the Knoxville Raceway point standings and will look to close in on leader Dusty Zomer this Saturday.
