Domination Rains Down On Hanford!

By Gary Costa

Bring Out The Broom! CA – June 6, 2007 …When we show up at the race track, there’s just no telling what to expect. Thankfully there is no script for us motorsports junkies and drama will most always reign supreme!

After an up-and-down weekend the previous weekend. We pulled into Hanford’s pits to once again pull out all the stops with the SCRA 360 non-wing Sprint cars, and watch Sprint car star Peter Murphy show what he’s made of and what fans and competitors alike knew what was just a matter of time.

The “No wings, No worries” Saturday night show, was one to not be forgotten anytime soon. The man from Clovis simply dominated the whole program, and that isn’t a shot of disrespectfulness at our fellow competitors, but more so a compliment considering the competition in the SCRA.

Peter is a man that has absolutely no quit in him, and he knew going into the rest of the SCRA events, that he was going to have to “go all in” to make up points if he is going too contended for the championship. After a going hammer down in hot laps in the Tarlton & Son, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Ridgeline Framing, Sharp Insurance, VMAC, BR Motorsports No. 21. Peter rolled up his sleeves and two laps later he crossed the line… “quick time!” turning a 15.600. In Heat-1, “Murph” finished in the #1 position. Then we rolled out for the 6-lap passing master’s dash, and Peter masterly took home the win after starting in the back. Can he be stopped from sweeping the evening!? No! Peter would not be denied and brought home the main event win, and proceeded to sweep all events on the evening! Peter dedicated his win to the memory of George Tatnell. The evening’s win, has placed Peter only 22-points behind point leader Davey Pombo.

Its one thing to win the race, but to sweep every event on the evening is very impressive: “We had a good night. Blaine and Jason had the car real good all night. And the track was good all night too. You could move around anywhere on the race track all night. As the night goes on, the pressure gets to you a little more, but we just went out and did what we were supposed to do and let everything fall where it may. The car was just on fire, and the engine was just hitting hard the entire night!”

On Tap! Peter will be taking this weekend off. Then it’s time to bolt the wing on the M&S Motorsports 410, as its Dirt Cup time the following weekend!

Question of the Week! World of Outlaw shoe, Brooke Tatnell comments about Peter;” (Laughing) I could jokingly say that he’s a wanker, but I don’t think most American’s would understand that! Peter is just a good hearted guy and just a fun guy to have around”

Peter Answers!” Brooke, add beer and I’ll sing you a song and tell you a story! “

Peter Murphy Motorsports would like to thank all of our great sponsors and fans!

If you have a question for Peter or the team, email me at [email protected] and I will get your question to him!
