From Poteau to Guymun from Caney to Lawton and everywhere and anywhere. From sprints to pavement late models to mini stocks to factory stocks, what was your memorable race in 2011 and please describe.
Thank you!

Donnie Ray Crawford Winning a prelim night at the Chili Bowl going three wide with Whitt and Gardner at the flag. Awsome race! All in all saw some really good racing this year, but that is one that sure sticks out when I think back over the year.

That Lawton night was an interesting night.
Here is mine and this will go down into racing legend around here mainly b/c of the people that were there that night. I was at Brills with Andy Flash Gordon, JD Porter, James Leinhart, Cody Morris and Wes Briscoe. People already going I can see where this is going. Anyone that has been to Brills knows that it is way out in the country. During hot laps we looked down to corner number four and saw a skunk in the infield. This creature was scared silly. Running all around the place trying to get away from the noise. Next during one of the e sprint races there was a flip and the red flag came out. Well one of the drivers did not stop soon enough for the flagman's liking. As the driver got closer to the flagstand a flag came at the car like a lawn dart. I guess the flagman wanted the drivers attention.
I never laughed so hard at a race in my life.

A multiple tie for me:
A) OCRS: Sean McClelland passess Mike Goodman in turn two of the last lap @ Outlaw Motor Speedway when Goodman blows a radiator hose.
B): OCRS: Jamie Passmore passes Sean McClelland in turn four of the last lap @ Outlaw Motor Speedway when McClelland has a tire go flat.
C) OCRS: Gary Owens passes Whit Gastineau on the last lap headed for his first OCRS victory @ Oklahoma Sports Park only to have Gastineau pass Owens back in turn four with checkers in sight when Owens spins in water on the track left by another car who blew just seconds earlier.
D) OCRS: Gary Owens Passes Fred Mattox 25 yards from the flagstand to claim the 5th annual Oklahoma State Championship @ Oklahoma Sports Park when Mattox loses control and flips just missing his first OCRS feature win, which became Owens' first.
E) Chili Bowl: You cant leave out that slam bang affair between Donnie Ray Crawford, Cole Whitt and Damion Gardner with local favor DRC coming out on top.
PS: DO NOT leave your seat early @ an OCRS race, you just dont know what will happen!

It wasn't important, it was just a link to you tube for the Beatles Let it be. Sorry I was unable to navigate how to post a link on the message board.
But to add my two cents worth of the topic of this thread, the best memory of this year was the Chilli Bowl it was my first and my last experience it was awesome! And I must not forget Knoxville and Osky. AND Outlaws at Salina, but the World of Outlaws was my very first race I went to at Tri-state 1 hour and 37 minutes for the A feature! It was a shame I became too ill as the season came to an end for me to attend any more races.
Its been "an adventure" and life lesson for me.

Mine was a tie between King of America mods at Humbolt and Lonestar Nationals ASCS sprints at Kilgore. Both had great racing.

LMAO the flag toss was a legitimate rendition of William Wallace (mel gibson) tossing the sword in Braveheart. that was one of the funniest moments of the year for sure.
As i said to this thread on the national forum. the entire weekend of ascs2 memorial day action at Port City was the best I saw all year. photo finishes in every race capped off by one of the best final 5 laps I have ever seen in anything/anywhere - between Chris Andrews and Layne Heimbaigh. Andrews slid going into 3 - Heimbaugh patiently watched him slide up - then pointed that purple 94 downhill and took the win by a few inches. place went crazy. for so many times I went to races this year and to see small crowds wilt away throughout a night of terrible racing.......that truly was a special night. Port City is always worth the trip
Wes Briscoe was among those that went crazy at the finish lol - I would have too if not furiously writing it all down. 5 minutes later Wescoe was still excited about the finish - and I was still sitting there furiously writing lol.

interesting - I stated weeks ago that the lonestar nationals was the worst of the 60 races I saw all season.
But I will agree when it was actually up and going - the racing was great. In reality - it was just the management of the show that such an epic fail. Worst night of racing I probably saw all year was every OCRS race I went to. It's been that way for 3 years now. The tracks they run on just suck. sucks too - because I dont think its really their fault - but it just seems to play out that way.
Official worst night of racing was the OCRS race at Ardmore. First race I took my girlfriend too. what a disaster. It;s gotta be bad when I walk out on the first lap of the sprint car show I;ve sat through 5 hours of 5 car stock car races for.....but.....hell it didnt matter - you couldnt see any of it. I bet if I made her sit through that blinding dust storm - we probably never would have lasted longer than the next day LOL. hell I may have had to talk Wes, ross, and travid into a ride back home - and thats sayin something considered the 3 were piled into a single cab that not only ws void of air conditioning - but was permanently cursed to have the heater on all times! LMAO. yea I am glad we left LOL
On the flip side - it looked in the weeks afterward like Ardmore is kind of on the up and up. I think that track could have a breakthrough year this year. and that was my first visit to the track - and what I could see of it earlier in the night - I really liked the track lol. so to see their car count start rising again - pretty sure I will confidently give that place another try. that was just one of those unfortunate nights when things combined badly. crazy hot weather and only the new promoter's 2nd show - even the push truck broke and the tow truck guy took off to make it to the bar for last call lol. It was just a disheartening event lol - but like I say dont mean it to be runnin that place down. I think it could have a good season next year and look forward to seeing a couple of em

#3) Joe woods battling Mclellen at Lawton, spinning out and tagging the pack, then finishing 4th. Good feature race.
#2) Again Little Joe at Devils Bowl holding of Brady Bacon for the win.
#1) Brady with his car smoking like a freight train and on fire intermittently winning the prelim feature at Short Track Nats.
