Don't forget to tune in to www.dirtvision.com (or Eagle 99.1 or Eagle 93.7 if you live in Northern Ohio) to hear the tough Lernerville locals take on All Star points leader Greg Wilson and the rest of the stars and cars to defend their turf.

Unfortunatley it was prob one of the smallest crowds in the track's history ( just a few hundred) which is too bad cause they missed a good show.

I never liked the idea of doing a TUESDAY night show over there...especially when the weather was kinda crappy and gas is $3.00+ per gallon. Many people such as myself would love to have gone if not for that little thing I call a day job that I couldn't take time off from to be there.

DANNY SMITH
2008 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee!
Now that he is 50 years young, he meets the requirements and there is no reason why he should be excluded on the 1st ballot.
With all that he has gone through in the past couple of years. Losing friends, shop fire and the tragic loss of wife Jan. The honor of induction would show him, that we are blessed by having Danny Smith and his Sprint Car racing.
Help me get the voting panel to agree! They are listed in the NSCHoF Induction program and most have web sites, or you can find these people through various media links so send them E-Mails and let them know who to vote in.

Hey Michael, he could get in based alone on what he has won in Australia where he is a God. Anyone who was at Lawrenceburg a few years ago when he won the Outlaws show should remember what he said with a very large smile in Victory Lane. Something to the effect of, "What's the big deal, I used to be the Track Champ here", what he didn't say, it was wingless and 25 years earlier, lmao. He is the master of the understatement and as old school as there is in racing, how I wish there were more like him.
Congrats Smith, keep on truckin', Take It Easy....

That was easily one of the poorest crowds in Lernerville history last night. For those that were on hand last night they got treated to a great feature event. Congrats to Danny on the win.

The racing was great but the crowd was small.
In todays world the fans just won't take a chance when rain is all around and the skies could open at any minute. Especially with gas prices as they are and a midweek show. It was sprinkling right up until 5:00 and then spit periodically throughout the night. A heavier sprinkle just before the A had me really worried, but lo and behold, we got it in. Like has been mentioned on here already, those that didn't make it really missed out. Show ran through quickly with the first heat firing off on schedule at 8:00 and done by 10:20. Quality field for the most part, 36 cars total, UMP Modifieds for support class.
Thanks to those drivers and fans who did make it. We'll see you next week in sunny (hopefully) Central Pennsylvania.
