So since Parsons Motorsports is selling out, does that leave the Casey's sponsorship up for grabs? There are several teams that could use this support. The first team that comes to mind is Silva Motorsports. Who else do you guys think deserves this sponsor?

I would be surprised if it continues. Casey's Owners have been personal friends with Lonnie since high school and he worked for them for years. I think that is the special tie to the sponsorship.

Could be wrong.

It's not a corporate sponsorship. $$ came directly out of the personal account for the Chairman Emeritus Don Lamberti (per numerous articles over the past few years) that is personal friends with Lonnie Parsons (owner of the 6) and the Sonner family (the Casey's # 47).

I highly doubt you'll see this sponsorship on a car next year, but you never know.

Having said that, Don Lamberti is leading up the Hall of Fame's expansion project and has committed a large sum of $$ for that project over the next 3 years (in addition to his already large donations from the begining of the Hall of Fame over 20 years ago). He has given more than his share to this sport whether or not he sponsors a car again in the future or not, IMO.

Thanks to Mr. Lamberti, Lonnie Parsons, the Sonner Family (hope to see them at the track again in 2012) and every other long time owner or sponsor of sprint car racing. You don't get thanked enough for all that you do, and all that you have done.

What makes you think anyone is entitled to any of the Caseys money. Why does everyone assume someones money or someones right is up for a 35 page discussion. Who else deserves it.......boy you have got the wrong idea about what racing is.

I'm not saying somebody automatically should get this sponsorship. All i was wondering was: if Casey's were to sponsor a different team, who do you guys think would be a likely candidate to receive it. That's all. I don't "have the wrong idea about racing" at all. This is a discussion board where discussions take place. If you don't want to discuss, leave.

I know some people pretty close to this situation, the plan is to sponsor another WoO team that is already established. I'be heard that the sponsorship will go to the 11k

21wforacer----why can:nt a person ask a question without some drunk in his face about nothing. He asked a simple question on who would get the sponsor ship if there was one. I have noticed that no matter what the forum is about someone tries to make a big deal. See a psyco doctor and have a nice day

Casey's is doing outstanding financially and sprint car racing fans in the midwest encompass many of what I imagine to be their target market. I can't imagine Casey's ending their support for sprint car racing. Remember they have and continue to sponsor numerous high purse races at Knoxville and have also sponsored the Osky races in years prior. If I were Casey's, I stick my logo on a guy similar to Brian Brown/Vermeer 55/Burch 1M etc who will run across the midwest and be a great representation for the brand. I never understood Casey's (or any sponsor) wasting their marketing dollars where they dont have product/stores by supporting a WoO team across the country with what little media coverage the national series garners compared to anything local that, for what I assume, could be done at a much lower price point.

If I was in charge at Casey's and was going to sponsor a sprint car that is exactly what I would do.

Sponsor a car that is going to primarily race in the Casey's sales area. Basically Iowa and the surrounding states. I wouldn't waste money advertising where there is little to no chance of the crowd even seeing a Casey's store during the next week.

My personal pick would probably be Austin McCarl, he's young, good with fans, confident but not cocky and has a lot of potential.

I agree you might want to sober up next time you try making a point. Just cause a team sells its stuff and retires doesnt mean the sponsor is deserved upon anyone else. Just cause a driver gets hurt doesnt me another driver is deservent of that ride. Also why do racers whine to promoters about getting paid more money when they piss money away on haulers when a pickup and 24 ft trailer will do.

I think the only thing missing from this conversation is no mention of "why have a condo on a lake or golf course when a double-wide on 1/2 acre will do".

personally i think that sponsorship of any kind going to the 11K is just boring as hell. sylva, sides, pittman, or whoever else there is out there. the woo needs new blood, they are going into extinction! but then again the ascs is the real deal, full or superstars in the making!

so, that was my rant........tnx

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

Did You guys read the post by vande. There is no WOO Sprint Car sponsorship by Caseys Corp.

Donald Lamberti funds the team out of his own pocket.

We should be thankful for folks like him who spend their money to provide the entertainment we enjoy watching.

This kid is all about racing, and obviously you dont know or have seen this kid pilot his Outlaw kart around Iowa or Texas. He has his own Graphics design and pits for an ASCS team. He was just asking a question and you misinterrupted it, but in his professionalism he gave you a good response.
