UMSS Awards Banquet Set for January 28 at the Mermaid

The Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series (UMSS) has set the date for their annual awards banquet to celebrate and honor the top drivers from the 2011 winged and traditional sprint car series season. The UMSS awards banquet will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Mermaid Entertainment & Event Center located at 2200 Highway 10 in Mounds View, Minnesota just off of Interstate 35W. Activities will begin with a social hour from 5:00-6:30pm. A cash bar will be available all evening. Dinner will be from 6:30-7:30pm. The awards ceremony will take place from 7:45-9:00pm. Following the awards presentation, the UMSS has reserved four lanes at the bowling center which is part of the Mermaid complex for those racers and fans who would like to participate in the 1st Annual UMSS Bowling Challenge. Many other activities are also available at the Mermaid.
The cost of the banquet is $30 per adult, children 6-15 are $15, and under 6 are free. Tickets need be purchased by January 21, 2012 by contacting series head Ron Bernhagen at 612-363-5302. Driving directions and other information about the Mermaid Entertainment & Event Center can be found on their website at www.mermaidminnesota.com or by calling them at 763-746-2134. The Mermaid Entertainment & Event Center has banquet rooms, an AmericInn Hotel, sports bar, restaurant, bowling center, a 4000 square foot game room, swimming pool and a whirlpool amongst its amenities. The UMSS encourages race teams and fans to come out and make this an enjoyable family weekend, as there are plenty of fun things for the kids to do. "This is a great place to have our banquet. I encourage everyone to check out their website and see everything the Mermaid has to offer," stated UMSS CDO Ron Bernhagen.
The AmericInn Hotel at the Mermaid Entertainment & Event Center is the official host hotel for the banquet. Rooms have been set aside under the UMSS name. The rate for Saturday night for a room with two (2) queen beds is $99.99. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 763-786-2000 and mentioning the UMSS banquet room rate. The cut-off date for reserving a room under the UMSS banquet rate is January 7, 2012.
The Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series looks forward to seeing many sprint car drivers, teams and fans at their third annual banquet on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Sprint car race fans are especially encouraged to attend the banquet. The UMSS has completed three successful seasons of winged sprint car racing and debuted the brand new non-winged Traditional sprint car series in 2011. With interest in both sprint car series along with the micro sprint series running high, the UMSS continues to build and grow sprint car and micro sprint racing near the Twin Cities and surrounding areas in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Since I am not a Power User here on Stan's board, I'm not sure exactly how long the above photos will remain visible. I've noticed in the past that after a certain period of time, the photos I post are no longer visible (at least by me). It's not that they get deleted or anything like that, but I think they just time out. Maybe Stan M can explain better, but for now hopefully the above photos are visible for a little while.
