I am leaving the porch of Pennsylvania, and finally coming to see the Super Bowl of Sprint car Racing. Haha, me and a buddy are bringing a camper out and i was hoping someone could help us with good camping spots. Was hoping someone could direct me with whats a good area to camp when i reserve the camping spot. If thats how you do it. I am new to the camping reserving thing being it will be my first trip to knoxville, so any help would be appreciated!

what do you like in your camping area,

DO you want to be in walking distance to track or would you like to camp a few miles away in state or county park, they are quieter but unless you are non drinker or have a DD would not do that

do you want electricity

do you want a crowded camping area, or an quieter home owners spot

Myself, I camp just out the back gate, can be sitting under the awning and hear national anthem and still be in my seat before the green flag falls, but my spot has not electric, and is not quiet as sprint cars, teams, and fans are walking close by starting around 7am till often 4 am

lots of options,

if you don't have any luck there, you can also call the knoxville box office, and get the number for John. He runs the campground affiliated with the track. I know a lot of folks don't care much for this campground, but we have been using it for 9 or 10 years with no problems. Electric hookup also. About a 15 minute walk to the track, or a shuttle runs non-stop from the campground exit to the track before and after the race. We always have a good time there and we stay up pretty late grilling out and drinking after the race. We have had no trouble with anyone. If you don't have any luck getting through to get his number, let me know and i will get you his direct number. I dont have it in front of me right now.
