Weather is "clear" for tomorrow night. Hope to see you all at the 13th annual Fred Ercse Classic, in memory of Chet Gardner. Come out, have some fun, and support this great cause! Smile

Hey so who won? That main was a great race! Feel like I had a good shot at it, - started on pole in my heat in the 5 car but it was a slow car all night- and led as long as I could. Went from last to third in the second main and I was out of the event for the first time (got in three years in a row 2007-2009). I also learned something in practice I can use in the regular wed 40 lappers. It was an honor to race up and coming star Kyle Larson! I won my first race in 2008 in the 13 car so enjoyed watching it win.

The 13 got off to an early lead in the main and held it- while Wed night regular Fred Elliot moved up into second and began to pass the 13, but got crossed up and hit the inside wall. After that Elliot slowed down and was passed by the only other Wed night regular in the main- up and coming racer Cody Laney. Laney then challenged and passed for the lead several times, but the thirteen held him off. Coming off the last and final corner, Laney got a run but was held up by lapped traffic and the 13 held on for the win. Awesome racing!

Thanks again guys, I never forget Fred and I always spend a lot of the weeks before the race and day of thinking of him constantly. He was a one of a kind character in my life and I'm proud to have raced and known him. We Wed night guys always get a good laugh when we recall our best Fred stories. Thanks again for a great night!

Thanks for the kind words John. We had a great turnout this year, maybe the best one yet. Thank you to all who supported the event. We hope you all had a good time!

In the end, the top three finishers were:
(1) Brad Alexander
(2) Cody Laney
(3) Jake Swanson
