With the up coming new EPA guide lines for dust most race tracks will have to shut down. Now tracks will not only have sound meters like some do now, but dust meters. Farmers are going to even feel the crunch. The EPA is not going to allow rubber and DUST flying into the air. Tracks will have to learn to work the tracks. For once I'm for the EPA. No more dust or probably no more dirt track racing. We are from the government and were here to help shut this sport down. This story as been around for several years. Farmers won't even be able to plow if there is not enough moisture in the ground

This really is much more damaging then it appears on the surface. The root of this is to do away any chemicals applied to the ground. Farmers and everyday folks will no longer be able to use fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides on you lawns or fields. Outboard motors in lakes, when you think about it this will touch and dramatically change the way we live.

I was hoping for some great input. thanks Rustysteel. It's not a USAC conspiracy. I'd say it's more a greenie weenie conspiracy.

Back in the early part of the last decade there was concern that the EPA might shut down SFS back then, dust and noise were both factors, several officers in the Okla. Racing Assoc.(ORA) back then had heard that they (EPA) had done some studies of SFS with some complaints they were getting back then, some folks up north of the track got a city councilman to get the EPA involved and several ORA officers were concerned about it being shut down then, but then the track changed hands in 03 and Lanny E. took over and redid the track and came up with a muffler rule and Lanny kept the track pretty much dust free and nothing else was ever brought up about it till other politicians with $$$ signs in their eyes finally put SFS to rest in 09.
