Dude (although I must admit I thought you were jd's Mom until your post), calling a group of racers that basically win at one track against the Outlaws one track wonders is merely stating the truth and has nothing to do with respect or lack thereof, get a clue. If Nicole qualifies that well this weekend then she will have a shot, there have been many, many different local winners at the Grove, nothing would surprise me. Try not to read my mind when you can't even read what I post, thanks.....

Dude, that's the most sense you've made in any post yet, you're finally catching on, stay away from the sprint car stuff and you'll be fine...

Hey MSPN, let's you and I have an intelligent conversation about what it's like to race a 410 sprint car. Oh, that's right, I forgot; you can't speak intelligently about something you've never experienced. You're just a NO TRACK WONDER!

Rose, if your son is a racer in Central PA I truly wish him well and admire him for his braveness and ability. I am not anti-racer whatsoever and hundreds in this forum could confirm that, I merely have a 15 year fued (all in fun, really) with some Posse fans that gets carried away when a cheerleader gets emotional. I mean no harm but I don't pick a fight unless I think the cards are stacked in my favor, trust me. I have been to dozens of races in PA and never had a bad time at any of them, one time a few drunks got me goin' and I almost got in some trouble and I should have punched a few but I left and the Outlaws even won that night at the Grove. I hope you enjoy the weekend and the weather works, should be a great one and I will try and listen if I get the chance....

Mike, Im not trying to discredit the 4 drivers you mentioned. There record speaks for themselves. I think what you are missing is that because the Posse are so tough to beat at the Grove, its what makes the field this weekend so tough. Im using your logic that they cant win on neutral ground but are more then capable of winning on their own turf. Here's a stat for ya proving how tough the field is this weekend and has been for a long time. Do you know what the record is for most National Open wins? Its a stout 4 by the King himself and thats in about 28 tries. The greastest of them all managed to win this race once every seven years and he has the record. He has 3 times the amount of Knoxville Nationals wins. Lance and Donny both have 3. I'd be willing to bet without looking it up that all have double that amount of Florida wins.. This is the 49th annual National Open and we dont have one 410 driver in the history of this race with more then 4 wins. This shouldnt even be a debate, the fields between the 2 are not even close. Go Leppo!

A lot of this is just understandable home team cheering.I think its reasonable to say that tho the Outlaws are better on neutral tracks, nobody defends home turf like the Posse, making them the best LOCAL racers....OK?

Clint, you are right but for the wrong reason. Because it is a one track wonder deal the locals have a pretty big chance to win there but I don't think you want to compare the abilities of those 4 and the many others I have mentioned to the average weekly racer at the Grove. Because of the fact it's the Grove and soooo difficult to race on is what gives the big edge to have somebody out of the blue win it. The actual field is much weaker without those nationwide top dogs, anyone with a brain can figure that out but a lot of different local racers can win there because it's the Grove and the one track wonders can rear their ugly head and win one and no they are not ugly, lol. If you think one of your locals can beat Shane Stewart anywhere in the country BUT the Grove you're crazy, but I don't believe you do, I am not including the big 3 in this debate either. The same thing with TK, Tyler and the new phenom. Why don't you post a list of ALL the National Open winners, I was at the Grove site earlier but it wasn't very up to date and I never did check out this stat, I am curious as to how many longshot winners there have been, have fun this weekend, wish I was there....

I also see that Donny has 4 and not 3 but still no driver in the history of this race has more then 4 wins. IMO, this isnt even a debate. If Steve Kinser who has been racing this race since the 80's only has 4 wins, thats one tough field. To me Mike, its not even a debate which field is tougher. The race is at the Grove and other then the Knoxville Nationals, its the toughest race to win in the country because its at the Grove. Period! You believe you're right and I believe I am. Either way, neither is going to change their mind. I love the stats on my side though! Go Leppo!

Kinda crazy to think about the fact that Fred hasn't won an Open. Fun times are ahead this weekend, no matter who wins.

Kinser's 1st Nationals was 1990. He won 3 of the first 5 he competed in and Karl Kinser won 4 of the first 6. In the 22 years the Nationals have been Outlaw sanctioned, 20 have been run with Outlaw cars there (98 and 08 were rain delayed and the Outlaws were elsewhere) and 14 have been won by Outlaw drivers (including Stevie Smith running the 77 in '89 and '91)
