Hey Mike,

Them Ducks know how to win. They win pretty games, they win the ugly games, I hope the series goes seven games cause I love hockey, but them Ducks is tough....

Your thoughts please...

I'll give you some thoughts, it's simple everyone always talks about how Pronger and S.Niedermayer are always on the ice and they are the toughest Defensemen in the game.... well they are tough, but they can be beat, how.... simple. When I played Juniors we always picked on the players who were on the ice alot, not to mention Dmen, you always cross dump to there side and the reason why is beacause they have to turn around and go get it, and the goaltender can't comeout and get it, which means your forecheckers should have enough speed to at least put a hit on them, over the course of a 7 game series this will take effect. Not to mention if they start making mistakes on breakouts and in there own zone. This should be a great series I'm not a Ducks fan but Ottawa has relied too much on there top line to get the job done and unless there 2,3,& sometimes 4th line can scrap up some goals this series will be over in 5-6 games. I'm a huge Ryan Getzlaf fan and used to watch him play when he was in the WHL with the Calgary Hitman so for his sake I hope he gets a chance to hoist the cup!!!

Hey MSPN I know your a huge Flyers fan so what do you think the chances are of your Flyers landing some scoring help in Scotty Gomez??? That would help out poor Simon Gagne for sure.

MSPN, how's about them London Knights? Now that's real hockey. Remember me? I meet you at the truck stop in London for a delivery to TJ.(the Winslow picture).

Mr. Mac, I have a little quote from me from April 11th, the night the play-offs started.

"Calgary in an upset, ANAHEIM to play either Ottawa or Buffalo in the finals." I don't know how to italicize things but I had Anaheim back then and am not gonaa change now. My Calgary pick was mainly to tease you but I did think San Jose could have beat them in the 2nd round, oh well. The Ducks have the most Canadians on their team so that has all the patriotic Canucks up here in a quandry, not me. I think I might have said in this forum a very long time ago that I would never see a CA team win the Stanley Cup in my lifetime, I hope this doesn't mean I am gonna bite the dust soon, yikes!

The London Knights are part of the best hockey league in the world the Canadian Major Junior league, but even that is being over officialized (sp) these days. You can't make contact much anymore but the emotion still runs high for every game. I was impressed with the way the Ducks hit everything that moved the other night, it certainly has a way of wearing you down come the third period and sure enough that's when they won the game. I hope to see more of it tonite and Ottawa can play that way too so their first home game could be very interesting, I just hope they are already down 2.-0 by then.

Pincushion, the Flyers need more defensive help than anything, unfortunately for today's game their defense is a step or two behind most of today's forwards. They might draft a kid that played in my town who is a scorer and playmaker named Pat Kane. He was the Rookie of the Year and the scoring leader as well, regular season and play-offs and they didn't even make the finals. I sure catch a lot of Flyers crap from my old friends who I dished it out to 30+ years ago, sheesh some people never forget, lol. Take It Easy.....

The London Knights are nasty, alot of good players have come and gone with them Rick Nash, Patrick Kane, Sam Gagner are the new young guns out of London now. But if the Flyers need D help they should really go after Karl Alzner from the Calgary Hitmen very physical, fast, sees the ice really well and can move the puck. I can't wait to see what John Tavares does this year with the Oshawa Generals, this kid is the complete pakage. Remember Nelly your Flyers won back to back titles in 74 & 75 and not too many teams say they have won back to back Stanley Cups. The old Philadelphia Flu must have set in really good those two years for opposing teams. The best team in Junior hockey today is the Vancouver Giants with the Medicine Hat a close second. Pincushion, we once had Brad Marsh and Rob Rammage as they same defensive pairing here in London, likely the second best duo of all-time in the OHL behind Dennis Potvin and Ian Turnbull from the '67's. Vancouver dominated the Memmorial Cup last week and I watched bits and pieces of all the games on TV up here.

I bet you on Saturday night we'll see a much higher scoring game and the first scrap of the finals. Ottawa won't put up with any crap in their own building and Anaheim doesn't take a step backwards so this could be a good one. If the Ducks win the Stanley Cup they will be the first team since the Flyers to win Stanley's Cup while leading the league in PIM's, here's hopin'. Take It Easy.....
