Streeter takes Orth Family Racing 24 to victory lane in Chico
By Gary Thomas
May 29, 2007... After weeks of trying to get back to victory lane at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway, Lathrop’s Matt Streeter was finally able to get it done during the 11th wingless spec sprint point race of the season. Matt started from the front row and led all but one lap en route to his second spec sprint victory of the season aboard the Orth Family Racing, A.R.T. Ent, M & S Racing Engines, Mike German & Sons, Vaughn & Family, T & T Trucking Inc. No. 24.
Matt finished second in his heat race and got around pole sitter Chris Webber on lap two before cruising on to victory. Matt also won the wingless spec sprint opener at Silver Dollar in March and this most recent win has pushed to within four points of second and nine points back of the leader in the wingless division. The wingless spec sprints will take a couple weekend’s off but when the series resumes, Matt and the Orth Family Racing team will be looking to cut into the point lead.
This weekend will see Matt Streeter run his first SCRA 360 race at Hanford’s Kings Speedway. Matt will be behind the wheel of a new M & S Racing Engines powered Maxim Chassis No. 35jr. special. We would like to thank A.R.T. Enterprise for helping us get the car done in a week. We’d also like to thank all of our sponsors including: Delta Demo, T & T Trucking, V & F Podesta farms, 4-M's construction, Troy’s Body & Paint, Gowen Construction, Eloy Coyote Racing, Orth Family Racing and M & S Race Engines.
Matt won a USAC Western States Midget race at Kings Speedway recently and will look to keep the Hanford streak going on Saturday with the SCRA 360 sprint car Series.
