Anyone from the Northeast heard anything about Ray's crew member at a 305 race this past weekend?
It might be a made up story, I have no clue.
Apparently, they were racing in VA. Ray's head crew man was doing final checks on the car before getting pushed off. Another sprint is pushed off and accidently hits the guy causing a severe cut in his leg, and they might have amputated it.
Definitely praying for the crew if this really happened.... If it didn't, i apologize in advance for starting a bad rumor.

No it is not a rumor. The accident happened at Bridgeport Speedway in NJ last Saturday night when Everham was racing with the 305 TSRS group. Another car was started in the pits to put heat in the engine, and the inexperienced driver apparently could not get the car out of gear while it was idling and he struck Everham's car, as crew chief Scott Fisher was tightening the rear wheel. The impact threw Fisher 10 feet into the air. He suffered severe injuries to his legs. Apparently, because it was an hour before the start of the actual races, the ambulance was just arriving at the entrance of the speedway when the accident occurred. It took almost 15 minutes for the EMT's to finally reach Fisher. Thank goodness there were people in the pits who helped Fisher and probably saved his life.

How do tracks get away with this!!? Bridgeport's insurance company has to cring when they hear about this. An ambulance and staff should be in place before an engine is ever fired. Is that too much to ask for?? Hopefully this guy is able to make a full recovery.

Agree 100%. That being stated, New Jersey is one of the few states that are montored by the State for all racing matters. For the most part, racing has been relatively safe over the years with the State's mandated safety requirements. It was a very freak accident and I am just thankful Scott Fisher survived this tragedy.

Saw this on SJDR,
THIS WAS RECEIVED FROM RAY EVERNHAM REGARDING THE SPRINT CAR ACCIDENT AT BRIDGEPORT, NJ SPEEDWAY.
To all of the race fans and friends who have shared their concerns,
The Ray Evernham Enterprises race team extends our thoughts and prayers to crew chief Scott Fisher and his brother Douglas Fisher, who were both injured in an at-track incident on Saturday night at Bridgeport Speedway in Logan Township, NJ.
The team was working on the car in the pit area when an out-of-control car missed their pit and struck the REE car in the pit area. Douglas Fisher was treated and released at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Scott Fisher remains in the hospital in serious condition. He is awake and alert, and is in good spirits with his family. The medical team is addressing serious injuries on his legs and feet. We are working closely with the medical team and the Fisher family to get Scott the care he needs.
We would like to offer our deepest gratitude to the fellow racers and the Iraq veteran who helped provide first aid measures on pit road Saturday night. You all helped save Scott?fs life.
Scott Fisher?fs wife Angela offers the following, ?gWe are very grateful to everyone who helped Scott at the track and in the days afterward. Your thoughts, prayers and concerns are much appreciated, and we will provide updates as they are available. In the meantime, we ask for privacy as we focus on Scott?fs recovery.?h
Thank you,
Ray Evernham
