Tight Point Battle Caps Off Season Championship Night The season points championship in the Forbes Meats 360 Sprint Cars came down to the final feature event of the regular season Saturday night at the Jackson Speedway. With 20 points covering the top three drivers in the division, and just a deuce difference between leader Casey Heser of Jackson, MN and Skyler Prochaska of Lakefield., MN and Bill Boles of Harris, IA 20 points back, a slip up by any one of the three competitors could have had major consequences. When the double checkers flew over the speedway, it was Gregg Bakker of Sioux Falls, SD, earning the feature win, but the third place finish of rookie sensation Skyler Prochaska would give him his first-ever Jackson Speedway 360 Sprint Car point championship. In the Sport Compacts, Aaron Betz claimed the feature victory and the point championship at the end of the evening. The Hobby Stock class would see some wild racing action before Shane Klaassen of Little Rock, IA, took the feature win, but Justin Nehring of Storm Lake, IA would claim the point championship in the class. For the Sport Modified class, Jason Andrews of Okabena, MN, held a 22-point lead going into the feature and captured the point championship with his feature victory, which was his first feature win of the season at the speedway. For the 305 Sprint Car class, Bill Boles of Harris, IA, had the point championship locked up going into the night’s event, but Jackson native Jake Erickson earned his first feature victory of the year. And, for Ringsted, IA, driver Dan Jorgenson, it was a bittersweet birthday celebration in the 305 class, as he also announced his retirement from the sport as he celebrated his birthday on Saturday. For the Stock Car class, Trent Schroeder of Worthington, MN, had the point championship locked up coming into Saturday’s feature, but it took the thickness of a bumper at the checkers over Jim Larson for Schroeder to claim his first feature win of the season as well. There is still racing action remaining at the Jackson Speedway this season with The Loren Barstad Memorial Saturday Sept 24th The 33rd Annual Kemna/Asa Stock Car Jackson Nationals Friday Sept 30 & Saturday Oct 1st.Then the Jackson Speedway Touring Series 360 Sprint Cars will close out their season with a first-ever appearance at the Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, MN on Saturday, Oct. 3 to crown the series champion.
