I love Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway. The people up there are just plain nice and easy going. Here are a few comments about my experience last night...
To all the USAC-CRA "regulars" that made the tow...I just want to say "Thank You" for your efforts. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to get up Sunday morning and get on the road, in the heat, after getting home so late after Saturday. This series is regarded as one of the premier series on the West Coast and you guys are the reason.
Kevin Barnes, Danny Faria Jr, Jeff Gardner, Jonathan Logan, Charlie Louden, Jesse Mack, Peter Murphy, Davey Pombo and Blake Robertson...I salute you! It was really great to see all of you show up to do battle with the travelers...and you did yourselves proud.
The "Professor" really "schooled" the class again up there...Way to go Cory!
"Cowboy" Jones...how many times does this guy have to carry a broken car home to a respectable finish? Man, what a heck of a job saving the car and then driving the heck out of the crippled heap!
Jonathan Logan's 5th fastest qualifying lap...wow...that was impressive!
Blake Miller's New Track Record...very cool...especially after seeing that first win the night before!
Great to see Nadine back (in the 94G)...that wreck two weeks ago was nasty!
Team Crossno...love how dedicated these guys are...too bad the results weren't what they hoped for.
How about Davey Pombo's heat race win...in a 360!
Argo...well, that should silence all the internet bashers for a while...great run dude!
Nice to see Chargin' Charles in the Dorathy 21A...hope we see more of that combo this year.
Blake Robertson...can you even believe how smooth this guy was in his first-ever non-wing race! Thanks go out to JFM for allowing this former Knoxville Nationals Rookie to give it a shot.
Ripper...this guy's luck has to change for the better soon....and when it does, look out!
I'm gonna get slammed for this one, but Gary is right...that Modified race was awesome!
The only bummer about the entire night was that Kruser, Super Rickie, and Showtime didn't get to greet the Budwiser "Thunderbowl Girls" that were waiting for them at the start-finish line...
