What's your favorite Jerry Reigle story? I didn't now him that well, although respected him based on his work in Area Auto Racing News and the few phone visits we had. I'm interested in some stories or interaction you've had with Jerry.

I don't read AARN as much because of the web but his column was the best. He filled Chorpening's shoes well. Christ's peace to his entire family.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Jerry used to write a weekly racing column for the Harrisburg Patriot News before going to AARN. His column usually appeared on a Thursday.I don't recall the year, probably mid to late 90's maybe early 2000, but the Outlaw's were scheduled to be at Williams Grove the following weekend. In his column, Jerry proclaimed that the Posse didn't have a chance to beat the Outlaws. Lo and behold, Donnie Kreitz Jr pulls off a victory, may have been the race he passed Kinser on the last lap, but not sure.At nay rate, obviously the drivers followed his column as well as fans, because Kreitz got out of his car in victory lane and before Bruce Ellis could ask his first question, Donnie yells into the mic...WHERE"S THAT JERRY REIGLE!!! I still chuckle whenever I think back to that race.

You are exactly right. I remember when Bob Chorpening stepped away from his weekly sprint car colulmn, I thought no one could ever replace him. But Jerry sure did and was a wonderful writer. His colulmn was the first thing I read when my AARN came every week. He will be missed. The ironic twist is that every week he would write 50 bullets of tidbits and would always leave #43 open for "The King" Richard Petty. Unfortunately, Jerry died at age 43. RIP
