Victorville Sun. Night Sept. 4th Labor Day Weekend Sprint Cars need input! This Show was set up as a Open 360 Show only, but we have had a few 410's ask
to make it a open Show. We are looking at making it a Open 360/410 Show, but any
410's will start from the back, and it is still a 360 Purse..(Ventura).....Need
racer input...Do we do it...or keep it only 360????? I hate to turn Racers down
when they ask for a place to Race!!!! The USAC 410's will be up North
anyhow..........Your thoughts!!!!!!!!!

Steve,coming from a fan who does not really like 360s this may sound strange but in my never to be humble opinion,this started out as a 360 race and I think it should stay a 360 race.

Before the new track here in AZ opened (Arizona Speedway) they polled the car owners about what kind of open comp series they would support. Now even though the open comp races we had in Prescott Valley allowed 410's with restrictors and some weight, and they did well with fan and car count, we were told that to many teams said they wouldn't show up if they let the 410's in, so they didn't!.... That's why I call in a not so open, open comp.
Point is I'm thinking you might have a few 360 teams that might not be to keen about this last minute change.

If my 2 carpool partners would get it together we all could be at calistoga and back down here for VV for sunday night then back up to the gold cup on the 7/8/9/10th.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Steve, you may lose more 360's than you gain 410's. Let's let the 360's have their day in the sun. I am like Turn4rob a die hard 410 fan. But I guess that I am a bit of a "Racerist" and that the 360's and the 410's should not be intermingled for this show.

The Show was originally billed as a Open "360" Show!!!! So in fairness we
will keep it a "360" Show only. No 410's running with them.........But here is
what we will do for the 410's......For any 410's that want to come out and play,
we will run you in your own Division.......You will run your own little Race,
call it a glorified Test Session.....I will pay a purse of $150 Bucks per 410
car that Shows up and divide it up between the 410's.....We really need 5 to 6
cars to do this.......I think this is a fair solution to the 360's, and a place
for some of the 410's to come play if they want!!!!!!! Thanks for the input
guys.....360 Open Purse will be the same Purse that Ventura pays......Oct. 1st will be the next 410/360 Open Show........Thanks Again!!!

Hi Don...I wish I could pay that..(lol).....If we have 3 - 410's..That would be $450....We really need 5 or 6 cars to lat least make it look like a heat Race....But we will run what Shows up so they do have a Place to Race!!!!

410's to C'stoga??...only mabe top 10 in pts,that will/can afford ta travel!!.and be able ta stay for thur. nite 8th at Chico??..plus ones that mite also have a Midget ride....
also, theres only a select few 410's from CRA/Perris that'll support VRP,and you Steve??..thats same situation that new Az. Spdway is facin'!!..mosta top dogs in ASCS refuse to support it??....tuff choice..BestoLuck to all...I'll be makin the 12 hr haul (Solo)up to NorCal Wine Country startin Wed!!.........

Yes it is, but as you know first hand Bruce there is one big difference. The AZ Speedway fills up the place, and it's been full house for all three shows. There are a lot of new fans to be made out there because of all the family's and kids that have been showing up, and the same people who say they just want whats good for racing in AZ, are part of the same group that don't show. Politics seems to be more important than taking advantage of a golden opportunity to grow our sport here in AZ. There is no question that the powers that be in AZ sprint car racing today are not supporting the new track at all. After all, we now have the ASCS's doing all the promoting for both USA and Canyon. Even though the AZ Speedway has NOT ran a show opposite them, some still don't show; why get in a bad habit.LOL

rite you are Kenny,almost like cross'n a Union Picket Line!!..... both the 2nd,3rd shows I made, were a packed house, just wasn't able ta make the 1st show....I'm very curious, as to how many of their regulars, will make an attempt to support the Natl USAC/CRA Canyon event??....think'n alota eyes will be on this one!!..we'll know, when we see whoz got the FRONT ROW pitside!!.............

Charlie and Mike Martin both managed to get over to Victorville, now didn't they..LOL We're going to have a good showing from our AZ drivers at the USAC show, and it's kinda a home track for the ASCS, so they'll be there. I just hope Casey has a ride, he had a win at Lincoln Park last weekend.

When I was there Aug 6th Az drivers were..#1 Sussex,#8 Ream,#20 Deskins,#50 Davis,Jr.!!...not to sure on the #16 Martin,if hes ever made the tow over....Davis came from tail ta fin. 2nd ta Cardey....Deskins got
$700.00 highest placin 360 bonus!!....outa 20 cars

I was there too... Stevie Sussex and Shon Deskin had both not only run at AZ speedway before that night, they'd won there, and Bob Ream Jr had raced there too...The #16 got tangled up over in 3&4 that night, and was put on the hook. Don't know who was driving, but I'm pretty sure it was the Martins car.
