The non/wing sprints have run maybe 4 or 5 times over the last 30 years at FarmerCity I was at one of them and it was one of the top 3 races i have seen there.... we have 20 or so sprints that live a hour or less from our track.... We are going to give them a try.. plus a bunch of cars from Indiana are coming over to cheak it out... If you are a Sprint fan and live close and want a new Track to run Sprints at or to be a fan at... Time you came on over...Al Thomas at age 77 he will be returning on Sunday to run his #72. he Won 2 of the races run there..

his son Steve Thomas of the Bell Helmets #20.
will be there..He is bringing new comer Bobby Logan and his sharp #7 from Rantoul IL.

Former Farmer City modified and late model competitor, Mark Brucker of Elliott IL, will make his return to the speedway in his new black #11 sprint car.

Kyle and Mitch Wissmiller from Saybrook and rookie Cameron Knell of Villa Grove are coming ... With the other IL drivers like Tommy Rockwell and Korey Weyant it is going to be a wild time when we go up against the Indiana lead foots that are coming.

I like that track. We always use to eat at that cafe that sold Buffalo burgers and other types of burgers, before the race. Too bad the last time I was there it was Kraig Kinser Rookie year. I remember a midget(600cc?) flipping in turn 3 and the car stuck in the fencing and was just hanging there looking straight down at the track. They said 'hang on' cut a couple wires and just let him fall 10 ft down.

Good close racing and a tacky track.

You forgot to mention the 'no rules' for the non wings. I saw that under the track schedule. Maybe just one rule for the non wings....no wings

What is a crate late? and hornet? If you want to make that a track that runs sprints regular you might want to ditch these things. Sprint fans may tolerate them as part of a special but not on a weekly basis.

WE have been runing some mini sprints this year would be one of the class that may run with them on a weekly show..A lot of the mod fans said they would come to a Sprint show so its Kind of a 3 big shows in one...we kind of know how menny people will show up for the Mods and Crates this way we dont Lose money count the ex people and then we kind of know if it will work.. If your a Sprint fan what would you like to see run with them...????? Weekly run Sprints ,Mods and Mini Sprints need one more....If you Love Sprints come and speak to the new people running the track they want this to work they love racing this would be one of few tracks running two times a week...Friday would run Super Late M, Mods, Sportsman and street stocks and hornets. then Sunday the Sprints

Crates small motor Late M

Hornets are the 4 banger small cars

We are new at the Sprint cars so its a Learn as we Go Work with us and could be a new Sprint track in town...

Have the new people running the track come here, and Indiana Open Wheel and answer some questions for us.

I'd like to know if they are running sprints first, and on top of that will they be running a fast paced program?

If you want myself, and others that come from Indy, you have to get us in and get us out like Kokomo does. Its a fair drive over from Indy for a work night, and already an hour behind us in time.

I could handle mods but not the hornets. Slow classes look even slower compared to sprints. Non wing sprints, mini sprints & mods would be a good show. If you need 4 classes it makes me wonder how few cars you are expecting in each class. I love wingless sprints and would be there fairly regular even though it's a good 2 1/2 hour drive one way if it is an efficiantly run show without too many support classes. Unless the other classes are mostly 2 heats and an A main. Can't sit through 4 heats of mods, crates & hornets just so I can see the sprints on a Sunday night.

Crates and hornets on fridays are most times 2 heats But we have not run them on Sundays so ?

Minis when we ran them got 15 to 20 some dont run here couse you need a Good motor to do the 1/4 mile. Some dont want there kids going that Fast...If we run the wing and Non/Wing Minis as 2 class some said they woud run both with the same car ,,We have only run the Wing ones..May need to see how menny migets would come. dont know if there are a lot of them around here or if people like them ?...If we could get 2000 to 3000 people to show up ever week for just the Sprints, Mods, and Minis then we can do that.. Some people think you need a lot of cars for the Races to be Good.. I would like 3 heats of fast cars over 5 heats of cars with a lot of Fill cars...

I enjoyed the minis there. That track is about the right size for full sprints and still small enough for minis. It says that it is 1/4 mile but that has to be right up on the top cushion. It made for some great WoO racing. People were already in lap traffic after about 1-2 laps. Never been to the Gold Cup but playing the video games I say it would have to be even smaller than Chico

*EDIT The only thing that was strange, and weird, was after a car wrecked the infield announcer would take his mull, on the track, and hardly before the driver was even out of his wrecked car. The announcer already had a mic in his face.
