why do so many race fans go to a race and come home mad and angery? Is there a rule in book that says you can not get out of car on a yellow. Racers get mad at times and if you do not get mad once in a while you should not be racing Some of you do not make sence, you say she should race like a man, but she should not pick on some poor man driver. I have seen so many angery notes in the last week. Every one is mad at something. If any of you in stands can do better, show us how. Any one front or back is racing something few other racers like nascar want to do. Sprint cars are trying to defeat the driver . Jessica is doing just fine. Grow up and enjoy races.

you're telling the race fans who are upset about a driver or two that are acting like a spoiled child to grow up and enjoy the races?

Just for the sake of argument, how is your little rant here any different than someone elses?

I don:t talk like a dunken sailor on leave. I think you can tell what class of people by what and how they word things. Some of you show no class. Sorry but it is true

I think your missing the point.

Both the Jackson Speedway rules and the ASCS rules specifically state that if you get out of your car for any reason, your're done. Period!

It doesn't matter if the wreck was your fault or the other guys; it doesn't matter if you had a verbal exchange. If you get out of your car, your're done. Period!

Unfortunately, the ASCS made a poor call and showed Jessica favortism by allowing her to race. That's why people are upset!

Race fans and or racers can talk about the fact that she's a girl, or they can rant about her skill or lack there of, but at the end of the day, none of that matters. The ASCS officialls made a special exception for Jessica and thats why people are upset.

Don't try to twist this into something its not. It's not about girls or boys or keyboards or rants, it's about consistency and about applying the rules equally. That's it, that's all...

I listened to the race live, and went back and listened again in the archive just to be sure. Pretty sure I know where the lack of class is. Sorry, but it's true.

You can't say it any better Hannity. If you are gonna have rules they need to be enforced. They both should have been DQ'd for getting out of there cars. Nobody should be exempt.

ASCS does not have a rule that says if you get out of the car you're disqualified. There is no such rule with the ASCS. It does not exist. Is this perfectly clear for you now? Also, Eckard was not disqualified either. If repairs could have been made to his car, he could have raced. This comes staright from an ASCS official. Now, Jackson Speedway could have a rule like that for the weekly shows (and with the Larsons racing there, they need a rule like that) but this was an ASCS National series race. There WAS NO FAVORTISM. So, get your panties loosened up from however big of a wad they're in.

Yellow Flag Rule off the ASCS national site.

Any driver who works on his car or permits any other person (other than a track official) to work on his car on the racing surface, during a yellow flag, shall be penalized one lap.

Ahhh, so, if another driver starts tearing your spark plug wires off, you get penalized a lap then already or when you start putting them back on where they belong? Just askin'.................

You're right.............he can either stand there and take it then catch a lot of crap about getting beat up by a girl, return fire and catch a lot more flack about beating up a girl or do as he did, which probably was the right thing to do. However, none of this really applies to what the clowns above are bitchin' about. wink

Wrong, clown. It is precisely what everyone is talking about. She acted like her mentor and every other spoiled little brat who has had too much handed to them and thinks that their status in life affords them special privileges.

In this case, her childish actions were rewarded with being able to continue competing in that race where she bullied her way past another car later in the race. Had ASCS stuck with their previous decisions in punishing aggressive behavior (Sammy Swindell, Matt Covington, etc) then she would have been parked for acting far less than professional.

Time for those who are in the haves column to start sucking it up, acting responsible and professional like their high dollar web sites and race programs want to indicate, and realize mistakes happen, and they are as guilty as the next person when it comes to making them. She got away with it because she is Jessica Zemken connected to Tony Stewart, and the ASCS officials dropped the ball........or at least had a change of heart in how they are going to handle stupidity on the part of their drivers.

Wrong yourself, clown. The primary bitch here on this stupid thread is about getting out her car and not getting disqualified for that. And, like I put here earlier, ASCS has NO RULE against that resulting in being dqed. GET IT?? BTW, it's so nice that you obviously have never done anything wrong so you get to play morality police.

"and realize mistakes happen, and they are as guilty as the next person when it comes to making them"

my exact words as it relates to myself having never done anything wrong - your words, clown.

I read the ASCS rule book just as you do. I also know there was specific discussion in the chat room from members of ASCS teams that included them being told at one time or another that you do not get out of your car for any reason other than a safety issue. Is it written? No. Is it policy? Apparently not that night. Are there other policies and/or rules adapted that are not in writing? All the time.

But I guess when all else fails, ASCS officials could have always resorted to this written policy when it comes to a PROFESSIONAL driver running one of their races: SPORTSMANSHIP – Sprint car racing is a very emotional sport. As such, good sportsmanship is the key element of any competitive racing program. This must include respect for all participants – drivers, owners, pit crews, and officials. For our part we will make every effort to be consistent with our rules regardless of whom or what is involved. We will treat all participants with respect and expect similar treatment in return. A racer’s pit area is his castle – therefore please stay out of other racer’s pit areas, especially after an incident where you have been involved with that racer. Drivers – remember that you are responsible for the actions of your crews. Any offending parties will be fined appropriately and disciplinary actions will be initiated as deemed necessary.

I'm pretty sure this is the one that got Sammy and Matt parked for the night. Smile
