My friend at Knoxville says that Kinser didn't swap motors.....they swapped cars. The car that came back in the pits for the A Main was all clean and fresh. He's been working on race cars for 45 years and is an excellent crew man so he does know what goes on.
Did anybody else notice or see anything?
Is it within the rules to swap cars like that?

Even with today's trailers carrying backup cars as complete as they do it is still quicker to change an engine than it is to bring down the spare car and get it ready so I find it hard to believe they would have switched cars. Switching cars is not allowed either and normally there is a watchful eye when teams are going out back to do things like engine changes.

I was standing right there in the pits when they brought the # 6 back after the engine change. There is no way it was a different car. As soon as it was parked in it's pit stall, several members of the Jason Sides crew, along with Chad Kemenah and Mike Cool and the # 6 pit crew began to change the tires from the B main, clean mud from the car collected during the B main, etc.
As stated above I was standing right there and know what I saw. It was the same car that was driven in the B main.

Thanks for the info. First time in the 37 years I've know him that he was wrong on a racing deal. Must have had a senior moment........
