No one, and I mean NO one can dispute that Donny Schatz has totally dominated the Nationals the last half decade. 5 wins and a 2nd place the last 6 years. Damn! Congrats "donut boy"...

Problem? Are you serious right now? I'm merely posting my "thoughts" about the '11 Nationals and, hopefully "facts". Period. The world doesn't revolve around you...

That was the best move Schatz made all night! I still root against him, but don't nearly hate Schatz as much as I used to. Have to admit the guy is classy on and off the track.

I have a ton of respect for The King, but considering the pairity in the sport today his current run at Knoxville may arguably the the best in the history of the event. 100% the man to beat at Knoxville in August.

He owns Knoxville it seems. What a drive last night.
These guys who take their sissy shots at Schatz from the seemingly comfort of their mom's basement better not say anything toward Schatz that he might hear say, at the track in the pits. I have a good friend who went to high school with him in Minot and the word was, no one messed around with Donny Schtaz unless they wanted their butt cleaned.
Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

He needs to be more fan friendly. If it wasn't for the fans he would not get to do what he does. He did drive a hell of race.

Schatz has always been that way, even when he was a teenager running Jackson and Husets. The man is all business when he races. Same as Sammy or Kinser, complete intensity! He may rub some the wrong way, but if your not a people person then your not gonna be the most friendly or joking person. Besides if folks don't like his attitude then don't go around him after the races.
when the green flag drops, the bullshit stops!

Wow, I guess Donny Schatz has made it when fans post on message boards that he can beat up other fans that don't like him. Used to be that the only one they'd say that about was Kinser.
These posts are great entertainment.

You must not have read it clearly. It doesn't sound like he beats up fans, it sounds like he cleans their butt(s). You can put whatever meaning that you want to that, but that is what he said.
All crap aside (no pun intended), I was at the races this week, and I knew the way he was running in his heat and early on in the main on qualifying night , he was going to be very tough to handle in the A on Saturday night. Most of us don't have a genuine dislike for him, just like to see more parody. He is incredible and even I stood up and saluted him when he circled the track on lap 51.

The furthest charge for the win in Nationals history. My hats off to him. Also Shane Stewart. Great racing all week.

Seems to be some confusion on where Donny started. Bill W.'s story says he started inside of row 8 which would be 15th, and I've seen 15th mentioned a couple of times. Knoxvilleraceway.com results show he started 13th, as does the story on the WoO website, and the points put up up my Mike Priefer show he should have lined up 13th.
If it was 13th then Kinser's 1995(?) win would be the furthest charge from 14th?
That said, I think Donny could have come out of the C main last night and won. Nothing was going to stop him.
Also not mentioned much with the charges from Schatz and Stewart is the 19th to 4th run by Tim Shaffer.
Sounds like I missed a good one this year. Can't wait to be there in 2012.

I am the first to give props where props are due and I say things the way they are..... Is he a tremendous talent ,yes he is for sure... Years gone by he has been very stand offish and only gave himself credit yet lately he is a completely different person in interviews and has in my eyes gained more respect by giving more respect to other drivers... But to say he would kick ass, I say lmao,,,,,, I remember in Chico years ago he had his crew fight for him...... Lol. Anyway who cares awesome job schatz and to the STP crew, bout time someone came from deep to win. Hasn't hapend in years... Also awesome weekend to Stewart and silva for there efforts.

Yeah, Donny is such a dick! I mean visiting Joey in the hospital, giving props to Shane Stewart in victory lane and then on Wind Tunnel last night he talked about how great it was to have two team members in victory lane who had never won at Knoxville before and see the smiles on their faces. I mean this guy is so mean!
Just think, if he wouldn't have dropped those cylinders last year and won, we'd be looking at 6 straight Nationals titles for this guy, that's half way to Steve's record 12 for those of you Schatz haters that can't add.
Can you imagine how this message board would light up with anti-Kinser remarks if it existed in the hay days of Steve's wins back in the 80's and early 90's?

I have a feeling, if he hadn't won 4 consecutive WoO titles and 5 of 6 Nationals, he wouldn't be nearly as big a dick to certain people? You can't argue with the ability, all the greats were hated at one point in time or another because of it. Sit back and enjoy the fact that your seeing one of the greatest in their prime. In 25 years, don't be shocked if his records mirror Kinser's, and in my opinion, the parity now makes that a bigger accomplishment if it happens.
