Ray Lee Goodwin (24) off Kansas City, Mo., rolls his super modified during the Knoxville Super Modified National Championship on August 12, 1972. Earl Wagner (5) of Pleasantville, Iowa, tries in vain to avoid Goodwin but to no avail. Bill Utz (98) of Sedalia, Mo., missed the action but would created his own striking a pole. — Morris "Beetle" Bailey Photo
