... the car on display in the SCHoF? I see the CH/Shaffer 83 on display. Who pays for that?
Would a team really take the actual car out of their rotation for the display? Surely not the motor (as I see they were using it on Monday night). Is is a bent up old car with the actual body-work and a bombed engine? Does the HoF buy or rent the display car, or does the team donate?
So many questions. I'm just curious on the mechanics of how it's arranged.

I'd bet that those "display" cars are just that.... display.
Probably about the same as the raffle car they tout and sell $20 raffle tickets and make a fortune on. That car is likely some refurbushed BOS (thats bucket of SH!T). Sure they'll say its top notch stuff. Maybe they ought to lay a pamphlet in it with the build sheet? No that we are on the subject.... did any of the last few raffle cars ever hit the track? Success?

Eli Deshaies (spelling?) races a former Knoxville raffle car out here in California. As for its success...no comment.
Cheers!

All the components on the raffle cars are donated by the manufacturers so I doubt there is any used equipment on the car and most of the equipment is top notch. I think it is a great fundraiser for the HOF and I hope they make a bunch of money on it to keep the up the great work they do for the sport.

The car on display is the winning car from last year -- according to Tim in today's interview with Dave Argabright in the HoF.

Raffle cars are top of the line. Depending on who wins them, the skill of the crew, driver , sponsor's dictate how they run. Can't beleive the moronic comments above.

year before last, schatz car was wheeled directly from victory lane to the HoF, it still had beer, champagne, confetti, grease, mud, etc all over it...
shaffer's car, is either a show car or they cleaned it up a lot, the chips in the pain have been painted over, the headers are brand new, and the tires still have the nubs on them.
of course its easier to tony stewart to throw his best car in a museum for year than it would be for holbrook/call.
I wish Earl still did Eldora's track prep.

I never said there was a problem with the quality of the raffle cars equipment. You just can't judge how "good" it is from the performance of the raffle winning drivers.
Cheers!

There was nothing used on that car! Somebody needs to do some homework
Before they Post.
It's not if! It's when and how bad
