Its beginning to simply amaze me how similar everything is year after year. Sammy or Steve are still the guys to beat. The same well funded teams using the same stuff everyone else uses still struggle (Middleswarth 7, Parsons 6 etc). The cars are getting more the same with "everyone" using All Pro chev and Maxim. Its not a coincidence that the guy using a SLIGHTLY uniquie "in house" chassis and engine builder is champion. The Mopar is faster but its driver has no luck.

With all this in mind, why doesn't a single soul in professional sprint car racing notice that Fords are now in the top dirt late models in the country (Owens, Richards, Bloomquist). When it rains or a track actually waters, a RoushYates Ford is in victory lane. The ones that are really dominant are even 410 cubic inch for heaven's sake! RY's track support is like none I have ever seen in my 30+ years at dirt tracks. The sport could still be magic if a we went back to the 1980s rule book and someone took off their bowtie shaped blinders.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Steve hasn't been the guy to beat since 2005. Sammy has had a rebirth lately, and is certainly the man to beat at Knoxville this year, though I think Schatz, Meyers or Dollansky will be fast too.

No comment on the Middleswarth 7 but,,,

using "well funded" and "Parsons 6" in the same sentence doesn't do a whole lot for your credibility concerning the "dominance" of the Ford 410's.

The Parsons 6 is a long ways from being a well funded WoO team.

I don't really understand the premise of your argument but if anyone has brand blinders on I believe it's you.

Buy a sprint car, put a Roush Yates 410 in it. If you want to run KWS, I'll drive it. By the way I like JEI's (GF1 now).

Sounds like the Ford is definitely dominant and I hope no one starts using one, because no one else will stand a chance.

Do you even remember what happened in the 80's? Steve, Sammy, and Doug won almost everything and for the most part, everyone else was racing for third or fourth. Yes, I know your beloved Casey Luna Ford won some races, it was fast when it didn't have a rod sticking out the side of the block. Today, nobody is dominant. When you show up to a race, 10 or more different guys have a chance to win. How can it get any better than that?

The Luna Ford was fast when Steve, Sammy and Doug were off racing elsewhere, 1989 for example.

So if nobody was there to race against it was it still fast or just better funded than the rest of the mid-level competition?
