Reno/Fernley Raceway Cancels 2011 Major Events
Aug 2, 2011, Rio Vista CA…..The Reno/Fernley Raceway has canceled the DirtCar Western All Start Late Model weekend Aug 13-14, 2011 and the Golden State King of the West Sprint car weekend September 17 and 18. “The poor economy in the Reno/Fernley area has forced these tough decisions” stated track owner, Rich Cable. We are working with the sanctioning groups to reschedule these events for the 2012 season.
The KWS race on September 17 and 18, 2011 has been canceled due to these announcements and has been tentatively rescheduled for early June of 2012.
The management of the KWS sprint car series is working to replace these races in the 2011 scheduled and hope to have an announcement in the coming days.
The next event for the Golden State King of the West series is August 5th at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA and the August 6th at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA. For details on these and other upcoming KWS events go to http://www.kwssprints.com or contact the office at 707-374-2222.
