Seen on their web site that they have dropped their series sponsors. Reason was for lack of payment. Sounds familiar but the shoe is on the other foot this time.lol. I suppose O'Reiley's couldn't justify spending any money on a series that had 4-6 full time runners. I suppose the point fund money is gone now too. What will they do now????????????????

4 to 6 full time runners? Not last year fer sur. Maybe 2 made all national shows.
Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Some of you are such idiots.
Haven't you noticed that O'Reilly's has been cutting back grass-roots racing for the last several years?
Anytime you can bash a series or a sponsor...go ahead. And you wonder why the sport is going to hell.
How do you know how this is going to affect the series? Short answer is you don't know.
I'm sure this has been planned for a long time and Webb and his friends in the business (some of whom are quite powerful and well known) will proceed with plans for the future.
If you want to support racing, just STFU, buy a ticket and enjoy. If you don't like the All Stars series, don't support it with your time and money. All you are hurting are the tracks which take an All Stars race.
I do know this. The All Stars series and its owner, aren't crawling into a corner and quitting. Maybe you should respect that effort they make to bring you quality racing.
But...you won't.

My thoughts exactly. There seems to be a small percentage of fans on this board who take delight in things going wrong with tracks and series. Whenever I read those posts I ask myself why it's good when bad things happen. Those of us who have been around a while know from experience that whenever we lost a track or series most of the time that was it, nothing came along to replace it.
Generally if I don't like something I just don't bother doing it anymore. I move on and don't keep revisiting the subject on internet boards to bash it every chance I get. I'm having a hard time relating to that "misery loves company" mentality I see on here so often lately.
I go out and see the Minnesota Twins once every ten years or so and it seems that every time I do they lose by something like 15 to 1. That doesn't mean that there will never be another good game and I don't go on Twins sites posting that I hope they go belly up. What's the ratio of those great once in a lifetime races compared to the not so good ones? I have only seen a few of those really special ones but I know that going in and don't attribute it to anything more that luck of the draw.

Not knocking anyone here but wouldn't they wait and pull out at the end of the year instead of in the middle of it? Seems odd.

Sounds like O'Reilly didn't pay its January bill. The ASCoC didn't get its money so why should it continue free advertising for them?
O'Reilly didn't quit in the middle of the season. The series carried them well beyond its due date.
Not the first time it's happened with O'Reilly and other racing series around the country. They are cutting out most all of grass roots racing funding as they look for a different investment goal.
Again, a surprise to nobody.

well, this could get ugly!, LOL
here is some of my thoughts,
I do not like that people talk bad about tracks, racers, promotors or series, but the people that read this and other like boards are looking for information.
Webb and current all star owners, have a few recent years record of , not paying their bills, not being loyal to racers or tracks, trying to pressure and threaten racers and tracks
Would not surprise me if the sponser agreement was over at end of 2010, and webb tied to just keep billing them,
so if a friend of mine was going to do business with Mr Webb, I would feel obligated to tell him to watch it, so telling people on this board, many who are friends, many more who might be friends at the next race, that the all stars management the last few years have been known to not be the best business partner is plenty fair game,

I may be having a middle age moment, but I thought reading somewhere that OReilly was chaning their sponsorship programs. I thought that I read that they were no longer going to be the title sponsor on many of the NHRA shows (including the race in Topeka) because they had recently bought out another parts provider and was going to spend more money trying to integrate the supplier. I want to think that I read this during the NHRA race weekend in Topeka. (I live in Kansas City) However, I can not find the press release about this.
Did anyone else hear this? If so, this may explain part of this decision.

Since Bert and Bridget retired, the All-Stars are just a shadow of their former selves.

You are correct JonR. The All Stars were the last national sprint car series to have O'Reilly sponsorship.
O'Reilly has been changing its racing marketing strategy for about the last three years. That the All Stars had the sponsorsip as long as it did hardly denigrates the series.
lakaecarl, I doubt your opinion matters. You aren't providing information, just spreading BS. You act like you really know something but I suspect you're just a typical blowhard.
Once again, idiots with an ax to grind continue to hurt the overall sport. They should just STFU.
If you want to go to a race, buy a ticket and enjoy. If you don't like it, save your money and stay home or find something else that interests you. And if you choose the latter, why should anyone give a rat's a** what you think?

Well now if people did just that Roger there would be no All Stars, Some one would more than likely start a different series around here & have to call it something else because Webb has the rights to the All Star name, I think Roger is really on to something here folks. In the name of Earl Pitts, WAKE UP AMERICA.

your series' biggest fan being this idiot is likely worse than losing the series title sponsor lol.
sure they will find another. or just proceed without one and cut point fund/purse down. can't say I'd blame em. if you only have a couple guys running your entire schedule - kind of throws the concept of a large point fund by the wayside.
There have been a few incidents exposed on here that really made Guy Webb look like a dillhole. But I agree wholeheartedly with what StanM stated above - there is a bad trend going on in racing and there are no positives to it. The moment you think karma or crack a smile at the ill fortune of the organization you dislike - the next day it's likely to happen in some shape, way, or form to the series or track you do like and support.

Didn't President Clinton have a brother named Roger. He was a constant embarassment to him, kind of like this Roger's association with the All-Star (s) series.
