I am Lew Boyd, a broken down dirt driver and current racing writer here in Massachusetts. My site is www.coastal181.com. Also work a lot with Speedway Illustrated.

Really enjoy your work. Thanks for what you do.

Am interested in doing some research on the Huchinson Nationals fire in 1974. By chance would you know of any drivers who were in the event and would be willing to talk to me about what they remember?

All kind regards to you from Back East…..

All you viewers may want to reply. This a very trust worthy site and the tops for books etc.

[email protected] He is looking for contacts for Jerry Soderberg and Jack Petty. I have give him all the contacts I could think of for Jack.

Dutch Ter Steege of OkC lost a car in that fire too. He had a lot of insight on what happened, and it was a very objective, yet realistic view of the day. I only have the nerve to repeat this- A lot of possibly bad things came together that day, and a risk was pushed too far on a cracked fuel tank(not one mention of a pressurized tank like some of the rumors out there, and I did ask about that too). There were no winners that day, and for some reason I keep running into stuff relating to this fire. One man brought me 'laminated' news clippings from the Hutch town newspaper. Of course we found film , and that upset a few people.

I would have relayed what all I heard from him here, but have found it to be a very touchy subject even today.
