As you can see a pretty hectic schedule, the aim was to see as much "good" racing as possible at as many tracks as possible.
If there any of the above meetings that you know of that are not taking place could you let me know or if you have any suggestions for what I can do on those pesky days of I would be grateful.
One of the direct spin offs from this site (and the Knoxville Chamber of commerce) is that I have managed to get room loan for the Knoxville weekend. Thank you to all concerned.
In anyone is at any of these meeting and would like to say hi – please let me know
Cheers
Mike

Mike, Please note--it's about 650 miles from Illiana to Belleville, Kansas. Probably 11 hours of steady driving, but at least you'll remain in the same time zone. My suggestion would be to drive west on I-80 through Illinois, Iowa and well into Nebraska until you get to exit 353 (Hwy 81) go south on Hwy 81 directly to Belleville, Kansas. Please allow plenty of time for all the activities at the NSCHoF&M during the Knoxville Nationals. Travel safely !!!

When you are in Belleville be sure and visit the Hall of Fame & Museum and the Boyer Gallery. If you are camping just pitch a tent anywhere in the park across the street from the fairgrounds. Then - if you are facing the park from the fairgrounds (looking West) look to the right of the pool where you will see a set of tournament quality horseshoe pits with a small gazebo on the North end - come by and have a beer because that is where we will be :-).

Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, MO (just east of Kansas City) is having USAC sprints the Sunday after the Nationals. It's a banked 3/8 mile track with black dirt - pretty racy joint. If you're willing to make the 3 hr trip down there, it will probably be better than Stuart Speedway's regular show.

Damn, you gonna be busy! I'm driving back to Denver from the East Coast about the same time, planning on Knoxville/Oscaloosa from 360 Finals thru 410 finals... first ever non-wing experience. Never did 10 days of sprint cars before, hoping I don't burn out (did 4 straight nites of Pa. Speedweek, way cool, tho my back was gettin sore from those bleachers at Selinsgrove by nite 4)
Where did you say you're from? See ya there!

I'm not bad mouthing Bellville, because I've never been there; but the 360 Nationals are some of the best, and most underrated racing, you will see at Knoxville all year. I can't afford to do the 410 Nationals, but I never miss the 360 Nationals and never go home disappointed!

the sat before the 410 nationals, has been one of my must see nights, not sure I have missed it since 1984 then when it became the 360 nats with the 410 it is my favorite night of the year, might be the only night I make it this year

I've been to Belleville a couple diff times for a qualifying night of the Midget Nationals, and it is a pretty wild place! If you've never been there, I would keep your plans to do that. That being said, what people are saying about the 360 Nationals is 110% correct. The qualifying nights on Thurs & Fri are two of the best days of racing out of the ten, and won't disappoint!

I have been to both Belleville and Knoxville and believe that both should be on your schedule. However, there is some concern about the car count at Belleville this year. The Belleville show is an NCRA sanctioned show. (the only midget show that they sanction) USAC now has sanctioned a spirnt car race on the Friday night of the Belleville show. It is at the EAgle raceway in Lincoln, Nebraska which is within driving distance of Belleville.
It might be worth splitting up the three nights of Belleville with a side trip to Eagle raceway. The midgets are my favorite class, but having USAC sanction against them might make the Friday show at Belleville a bust.
BTW, I disagree about going to the 360 nationals. You will be there for the 410 nationals, they are still the biggest draw and it is the biggest show. Going to different tracks will make your trip better.

It's going to rain like hell at Eagle that night so save yourself the drive. USAC will be reaping what they sow for scheduling that race compliments of the wrath of mother nature I'm sure of it.

You make a good point about seeing different tracks. While I already heartily recommended the 360 Nationals as being a worthwhile show, Bellville is on my "Bucket List". So, you might as well see both tracks and 2 different classes.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback, there is a lot to take on board and I will need a bit of time to take it all in!! - but any more opinions, options etc gratefully received. I appreciate that it a long drive to Belleville and may have to skip the first night if the body is not up to it!!.
The Valley Speedway meeting looks a good shout - so will look into doing that.
I am from Chesterfield, England.
Thanks again for all info
Cheers

If have been told that the USSA Sprints have been cancelled at Illiana, can anyone please confirm.
If that is the case I suppose I can split the journey to Belleville.
Cheers

I'd bet that it won't rain. Not sure what your problem is, but they have pills that can help you.
Split the Belleville scene and visit Eagle. I'm jazzed to see the first visit of the USAC non-winged 410's in Nebraska EVER.
