Golden State King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series Notes & Pertinent Info

Santa Maria Speedway – Saturday July 9

What:

The Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series will make its second and final stop of the season to Chris Kearns’ Santa Maria Speedway this Saturday night July 9. It will be the 12th round of action for KWS as the tour kicks off the final half of the schedule.

When:

On Saturday July 9 the front grandstand gate will open at 4pm with qualifying getting underway around 5 and racing at about 6.

Where:

The Santa Maria Speedway is located 12 miles inland from the Pacific coast, three miles north of the city of Santa Maria and is located a 1/4-mile north of the US 101/166 interchange on Hutton Road. The facility is one hundred seventy miles north of Los Angeles and 260 miles south of San Francisco.

Tickets:

Adult tickets will cost $20 on Saturday with seniors, student and military costing $18, kids 6-12 $6 and children five and under free.

About the track:

The Santa Maria Speedway is a one-third mile clay oval and the all-time Golden State 410 track record is 11.272 set by Brent Kaeding on July 10, 2004. The track also offers free parking and free camping.

This past May at Santa Maria Speedway:

Placerville’s Andy Gregg picked up a popular victory when he raced to his first career Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series win in May at the Santa Maria Speedway. San Jose’s Tim Kaeding finished second with Chico’s Jonathan Allard in third, Scotts Valley’s Evan Suggs fourth and Campbell’s Brent Kaeding in fifth.
