Despite being a consisent top 10 racer at just about every PA track, this was Alan Krimes first CAREER Williams Grove win, he's been around a while.
He was the 5th different winner in 6 nights, with Hodnett picking up double. And had they gotten into lap traffic, I would have put my money on the 39.
The place was jam packed with people, by far the largest fan count of the season.
The Zemco teams struggles continue as Stevie started 6th in the B main and failed to qualify. I'm going to go out on a limb and it's not just the car right now. Justin Henderson also failed to make the feature.
Jason Johnson was the only invader and struggled for most of the evening and finished around 20th. Despite tonight, the former Posse driver has had a good week so far.
PA Speedweek points leader Tyler Walker was well on his way to another top-5 finish when he recieved contact from Aaron Ott. Ott is earning himself quite a reputation. Walker was scored in 22nd.
The "Worlds Slowest Half Mile" was in full effect tonight as fast time was around 17.5. Yikes.
There were 34 cars.
The series shifts back to Port Royal for their second show of the week before concluding Sunday at Selinsgrove.

Hawk, thanks for the report. A family commitment kept me away. It was the first MITCH SMITH race that I have missed in years.I do have a question for you, I am assuming the crowd went nuts and were happy for Alan "HE GONE" Krimes when he won?????

Yes, it looked like a homegrown local had beaten the WoO. Everyone came to their feet and cheered.

Great night of racing. One of the best races I have seen at the Grove with Krimes & Dietrich side by side for most of the race. Hodnet & Monteith came from mid-pack to challenge for the win. Even the heat races had some passing & action. Tough watching the racing at Port Royal on Saturday after all the action Friday night.
Anyone have a video from the race?
