Tyler Walker wins tonight at Grandview. This is the same race he won last year, then tore his ACL doing a backflip in victory lane. 1. Walker 2. Rahmer 3. Pittman 4. Monteith ( from 16th) 5. Stevie Smith. Very entertaining feature and the show was pushed along with the threat of rain.

BECHTELSVILLE – Tyler Walker passed Daryn Pittman in lapped traffic and would go on to score the Pennsylvania Sprint-car Speedweek victory at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night. For Walker, the win was worth $5,000 and was his third at Grandview in the past two seasons. It was event No. 100 for Grandview’s Thunder on the Hill Racing series. "I love this place, but I’m not going to do any back flips," Walker said. "I can’t thank my car owners Jesse and Lorraine Keen enough. They gave me this opportunity. I’m loving my life and love what I’m doing." After Walker’s Speedweek win last season at Grandview, he did one of his patented back-flips and injured his knee and was out for a while. Sam Hafertepe Jr. started on the pole and grabbed the lead from Brian Leppo to start the 35-lap main event. On lap three, Haftertepe Jr. caught a very slow car entering turn three. He spun and hit the outside wall and also collected Leppo bringing out the red flag. They were uninjured. This gave the lead to third starting Pittman with Walker in second. Pittman drove away from Walker on restarts, but the California native would close in lapped traffic. They were racing through traffic and Walker had Pittman in his sights on lap 21. He dove under the leader entering turn one to take the top spot. "In open track, there wasn’t anything we could do," Walker said. "Under the red, I said ‘let’s leave the car alone and hope for some lapped traffic, so we could get him.’ Lapped traffic fell our way, we had an opportunity and we got him." Lance Dewease slowed with a left rear flat tire with two laps to go bringing out the final caution flag. He was running fourth. Fred Rahmer shot under Pittman on the restart and would take the runner-up spot. Rahmer tried an inside move on Walker in the final corners, but fell a few car lengths short. Brian Montieth, who started 16th and fast timer Stevie Smith completed the top five. Danny Dietrich, Chad Layton, Mark Smith, Alan Krimes and Brent Marks completed the top 10. "I’ve been racing sprint-cars for a long time and this is one of my favorite tracks," Walker said. "It’s racy, it’s fun and I like it a lot."
Pittman, who won at Bedford Speedway on Sunday, leads the Speedweek points headed into tonight’s race at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway with 436 points followed by Walker with 414 and Rahmer with 405. Montieth (367) and Layton (291) complete the top five in points. The series continues tomorrow night at the Port Royal Speedway.

As a fan, you usually get your money's worth when Grandview hosts the sprint cars. Last night was the same. The best part was the threat of bad weather kept the show moving along nicely.
