Thank you so much for this very clear headed assessment. I first saw the affect of dilution of classes way back in the early 70's. One prospective car owner and one alone kept whining to the promoter that he couldn't afford to race.
Finally, after years of this, the promoter gave in.
Right away, several pit crew members that were doubling as the primary sponsor on many cars took their sponsorship money and started racing in the new cheaper class.
Others cried that it was still too expensive. So the promoter created another class of racing. And on and on.
Now you get multiple races of cars that should have remained in the wrecking yards and the original class is running only about a third as many cars. With that situation, the main event is also the hooligan because the cars that aren't ready for prime time are not eliminated.
Racing is and should be about Darwinism, survival of the fittest and fastest. It should not be socialism.

So I guess you expect 14 year old kids to jump right into sprint cars? Great way to get someone killed.

I think you need to re-read the Dan's paragraph on fans who kill the sport.

Are you kidding me? What a hypocrite...
All you ever do is complain and whine about everything on the message board and any and everything to do with racing. I think you need to remove your head from your ass...

Plus, think about it. Some of these youngsters that come out of karts if they have been in a good program are real racers right out of the box and are ready for Sprint Cars. Good drivers are good drivers and bad drivers are just that. Where they learn the craft is not important as is how well they LEARN.

Thank you for the kind words about "VRP"!!! You are certainly welcomed at "VRP" anytime...I follow your blogs to try to stay on top of things. You are a excellent, knowledgeable Motorsport writer, and "Buzzard" takes some great Shots! It was from this board that I decided to run Sprint Main before the end of Night!!! I think it's important to give the fans what they want!

Mr. Promoter
Thank You, when I come to CA, it is a 5hr drive to VRP 4.5 hours to Perris. I know you need to get as much revenue as possible so it does not bother me that you have different divisions, but it does when I have to sit through hours of spin outs and restarts so I can see the program I really paid to see.
I also try to bring new people to the track whenever possible and when the track gets trashed by the support divisions then the tedious stop and restarts it makes for a show that most people that are not true fans will come back to see again.

Mark this on the calender. I agree with Grady 100%... Yes, always try to bring new blood to the track, and hopefully someone who has more than a few years left on his calender.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
