Due to a broken crown on a front tooth that fell apart last Saturday night after I got home from the Cedar Lake rainout. Two car repairs in April and one involving a tow to the shop, one expensive night in Knoxville last month and a family fishing trip next week. Hopefully my next attempt at racing in July will work out better.
Don't feel sorry for me. I can still afford to eat too much, have a few beers on Friday nights and there's plenty of firewood under the deck. I'll be just fine and the yard might even end up looking a little better. I'll be checking out Knoxville and the Outlaws broadcasts on the internet each week when I have time to get on the computer.
I hope to see you at the races next month!

Since you guys posted your schedules take this weekend for example. In order to get to Princeton I'd have had to drive to work in downtown St. Paul and pay for ramp parking so I could get out of downtown early and get up to Princeton in time. If I'd have taken the bus to work like I normally do I'd be too late for the races. Add Ogilvie tomorrow night and I'm looking at a $100 weekend. Do that every week and it comes to $400 to $500. After my other obligations I have less than $150 of fun money per month so no sense blowing it all in one weekend. That's from my personal account, my wife and I go out to dinner and do things from our shared account but that's untouchable for racing. I can't expect a non-race-fan to sacrifice so I can go have fun.
I'd throw caution to the wind, put the racing season on the charge card and worry about it next winter but we're trying to pay off some debt because I'm getting close to retirement. I use credit cards to some extent but I'm very conservative about that.
I could do a whole month of Cedar Lake for the same cost as one two race weekend of Princeton and Ogilvie. We'll see how the construction on 35e goes as they start ramping it up and maybe I'll take in a couple nights at St. Croix Valley depending on how the race results look the first few weekends.
This season for me so expect to get messages from me on Facebook again Mike like we were doing last weekend. Hopefully this time I won't spit out half of my tooth into my hand.
A lot of people would be fine with my schedule but I kind of dug a hole for myself with the writing, photography and websites so everyone expects a lot out of me year in and year out. It's kind of crazy to pay a couple hundred per year for a website I'm not keeping updated like I should so we'll have to take a look at that after the season. I've still got a racing and internet addiction just like always but my can do can't seem to keep up with my want to like it used to.

P.S. Miller Lite $15 chilling in the fridge, firewood under the deck, supper waiting for me when I walked in the door. It's a rough life without racing this weekend but I think I'll be able to get through it.
