Wittmeier Autocenter Night at Silver Dollar Speedway

Three divisions will race this Friday night, May 18, at John Padjen’s Silver Dollar Speedway.  The 410-sprint cars, dirt modifieds and dwarf cars will all race during the Feather Falls Casino point championship series event number eight.  Wittmeier Auto Group will sponsor the night’s activities and add extra money to the 410-sprint car main event winner.  Another $2,000 is on the line for the only weekly 410-sprint car winged racing in California.

Front grandstand gate will open at 6 pm.  Sprint car qualifying is slated to start at 7 pm with racing to follow.  Prices on Friday night are as follows.  Adult general grandstand admission is $10.00.  Juniors and senior’s are $8.00 while children are $4.00.  Pit gate will open at 4 pm.

Chico’s Jonathan Allard continues to lead the sprint car point standings.  However, he has some company.  Auburn’s Andy Forsberg, last years champion, has moved into the second spot while Oroville’s Sean Becker moved into third.  Becker won last Friday’s main event and now has three wins on the year.  Allard holds a thirteen-point advantage over Forsberg.  Becker is just two points behind Forsberg.  San Jose driver Jason Statler sits in the fourth spot and is just seven points behind Becker.  Chico’s Stephen Allard is in the fifth spot and sits eleven points behind Statler.  Both Allard and Becker have dominated the main event wins with three each.  Only Brett Miller, sixth in points, has the other win.  An impressive 59 drivers have earned points so far in just seven championship races.

Chico’s Richard Papenhausen holds a twenty-one-point lead over Chico’s Darin Ruley in the dirt-modified division.  Papenhausen has scored four top five main event finishes in five races.  Ruley has three top fives.  Papenhausen has one main event win.  Chico’s Mark Abouzeid and Chris Compton are engaged in a spirited battle for third in the points.  Abouzeid leads Compton by just three points.  Marysville’s Randy McDaniel rounds out the top five and has two main event wins.  Other main event winners include Mike Sohnrey, seventh in points, and Ryan McDaniel, eighth in points.

The traveling Dwarf Cars will be on hand for the second time this season.  Their first appearance was on April 6.  Neil Stinson won the main event.  The dwarf cars have a wonderful website to gather more information at www.dwarfworld.com/NCDCA.html.  Michael Grenert is the current point leader.  Stinson is currently in second.  Kevin Bender sits third.  Grenert has won four main events this season to grab the point lead.

The Wittmeier Auto Center is located on Forest Ave in Chico.  Look for the big American Flag off highway 99 in Chico.  More information can be found at http://wittmeier.com/.
