Very good race for the top spot for better than half the race between Graf and Barickman. Looks like I will be in need of another Mark Meeks video to commemorate the Chris Graf victory at Rice Lake. Thanks to all of the drivers for towing to Rice Lake and putting on a show for the fans. I spoke with several fans who were pleased with the sprint car feature race and the battle between 34 & 20G along with some good racing for positions 3-6 at various times.
We'll see how the UMSS cars and stars tackle the 1/4 mile Princeton Speedway bullring this coming Friday night where lapped traffic very likely will be a major factor for the leaders to navigate through.

I do wish that UMSS would tell the flag man NOT to use the move over flag. The guy at rice lake threw it as Anna was getting passed. What was she supposed to do? Go high? Move over? Luckily, she is a smart girl and just held her line. IMHO the move over flag should NOT be used in sprint car racing. If it is, it should be flown while the leaders are a straight away behind so when the lapped traffic does move over, it isn't right into the path of the leaders who are watching someone who is holding a line and trying to figure out how to go around them. Move over in street stocks, no big deal; sprints, big deal. He threw the flag twice at very poor times.

The drivers are told to hold their line. The so-called move over flag simply signals to a driver that the leaders are approaching. In both cases, the drivers held their lines and there were no incidents. No problems so far this year, but we shall see how heavy lapped traffic comes into play on Friday night at Princeton. That should be a fun feature race to watch, and could be a bit tricky for some drivers to navigate through the lapped cars.

Okay, as long as that was relayed to the drivers and the flagman. It looked scary from the stands. lol As a driver who has ran in the back, I know I sometimes don't know what the heck the flagman wants me to do when he throws the darn thing. If I knew they were throwing it far enough ahead of time, I would get out of the groove. But, as a signal to hold the line, it makes more sense.
