Great night of racing and the staff at 141 kept the show moving all night long and the track was racey top to bottom. The sprint feature was the last A main of the night and I still rolled out at 9:00 pm. Car count was a little light at 23 but several guys got tore up at Wilmot or other troubles and imagine the weather down south scared a few of them from coming north.
Balog had'em covered by a 1/2 lap till the yellow with 4 to go and there was 9 lapped cars between Balog and second place but all that was thrown out when in the last five laps they remove all the lappers. Goeden made a run and got in the lead but Balog slid him in 3/4 then the yellow came out. On the last restart Balog was gone again but quite a battle for 2-4th.
Can't wait for the next IRA show at 141 Sunday, July 3rd!

The racing was good in the A main with 26 laps in those last four laps with the lapped cars moved to the back was fun to watch. Just wondering though on the restart all cars made it through and completed lap 27 the leaders were working lap 28 coming through turn 4 when a caution came out for a car in turn one. But the scorers went back to lap 26 which really changed the outcome of the race when passes had been made on lap 27 which was completed. It's to bad that they don't have transponders then there would be no questions because if the scorers can't get it right it's really unfair to the racers. These guys support IRA all over the midwest and they deserve better. There are quite a few series sponsors for IRA there should be enough money to support using transponders. Being a regional series they need to get with the program until then they will just be a local Saturday night show that they took on the road.

Beercanned you talking about the pass Goeden made on Balog? I thought Goeden should have been the leader on the last restart, but don't question the mighty IRA or you may get beercanned for sure!
However a great night of racing, show kept moving and could have been done even earlier!
How about Balog missing a spinning 360 MSA car! If I want to watch a 360 race I will go to Manitowoc or Plymouth.

MSA 360's don't belong in a sprint car race. i laugh at these tools that love when the 360's show up. they bring nothing to the show other than rows 4 and 5 to the heat races. they aren't sprint cars. sprint cars are supposed to be fast, sound cool, and fun to watch. are the MSA 360's the lamest 360's in the country?

I do from time to time go watch them at Manitowoc or Plymouth and they do put on a decent show on there own.
I do not like them racing with the IRA (maybe as a support class it is ok) , Balog was about an inch away from tearin up another car.
Honestly, the IRA should not allow them to run with the 410's.

There was only 2 MSA 360's (#7 & 39) at 141 as a couple of the other MSA regulars had 410's in their cars. Fassbender finished 12th in his 360 and passed a 410 in his heat to keep his qualifying time. There is nothing in the rules that says you have to have a 410 to run, heck a 305 can show up if they want too. I see nothing wrong with it, I went to see a sprint car race and didn't really care what was under the hood, probably 90% of the fans there couldn't tell a difference. But having the 2 additional cars did give us a full field to watch.
As for the comment about the MSA being the lamest 360 group, I would say the MSA is one of the best bargins in sprint car racing when you look at motor expense. Hence why you consistently see 27-35 cars per race each week. Heck now you even have IRA champions Balog and Neitzel running MSA shows on IRA off nights. Got to be something to it. The MSA put on some great racing if some of you could just look at it as a sprint car race and not wonder what is under the hood.

I don't care what's under the hood. They are slow and sound weak.

I can't figure out why some of you guys get your balls in a bunch over 360's running 410 shows.
They want to sharpen there skills, running more laps does that, and do 410 drivers bitch about them?
I'm sure we would hear about it if they did. Have you thought what it cost just to get to the track now days, fuel, tires, pit passes, etc. knowing full well your not going to run up front , and that does'nt include anything you break, which could happen just hot lapping.
I commend the 360 guys ( and no, I do NOT know any 360 drivers or owners personally ) if they want to run, and the 410 guys don't mind, I say rock on guys, and THANKS for coming out and help putting on the show for the real race fans .

The MSA 360 cars run a whole lot more than the IRA, 2 nights per week plus a few Support show's for the IRA and they need to sharpen there skill's?
I doubt the 7 car had a MSA 360 under the hood.

A 10 o'clock curfew would be great but I know for sure at one track you would never see a feature.

The 360 drivers are where your next 410 driver is coming from not many guys step into a 410 right away. The motors are what they are to hold the costs down that's why you can see full fields of 360 cars two nights a week. As you can see the 410 car counts have been steadily dropping because of costs and economics. When the mighty IRA gets to Dodge County I would expect about 24 cars that night tops with no B main. A kindergartener should be able to score that race and get it right.

There was a driver who I heard once say, " you get faster by running with the faster cars ",
some guy named Foyt I think it was. Not sure what ever happened to him.
