Faas in a 360? Is that a sign of things to come? Not a great result though. Did he have an issue? Another good result for Richard VanderWeerd.

This was the worst track and worst racing I've seen in a long time. It looks like Faas just missed the set-up. There were a couple of good moves made for the lead between Kaeding and Bernal but it was a waste of time and money to even make the 3hr drive. The track was so slicked off for the heats it was follow the leader and by the main the dust bowl was so bad I left and didn't watch the Wings.

Track was definitely sub par for Thunderbowl standards. The strong winds obviously played a huge part in that. Heat races were average, but I enjoyed the USAC main event. Sheridan 24th to 5th at one point. Murphy 15th to 3rd at one point. The race between Bud and Bernal was worth the $17 alone. I have definitely driven further for much worse.

In case anyone thinks the racing was bad I disagree. The racing was good. Watching Bernal try and hold off Bud Kaeding on the top up against the wall was VERY entertaining. Murphy, Sheridan just to name two were making moves and there were plenty more too. All day long the weather was great in Tulare (I was there from 7:30am on) then when track packing/hotlaps started a raging wind moved in and literally sucked the moisture right out of the track. Its not a promoters fault that high winds rob them of moisture from the track surface. Those were the strongest winds I have experienced at Tulare in all my years of attending races there. The thing is the racing was still very good in the A mains for both divisions of sprint cars. Rubber only laid down at the very end of the winged feature. Dust does not bother me, I come prepared for it at every sprint car race I attend with clear safety glasses in my pocket. Generally when its dusty you can bet on an action packed multi groove feature, that's exactly what we were provided. I love the Thunderbowl, always is exciting. I want to commend Faria on providing once again a smooth safe surface for the racers to race on in adverse weather conditions.

the sprint cars for me!"

Lance, thank you for reprinting the finish with starting posistions. I always do this on my own to see if there was any racing. Saves me the truble and it quickly shows that a lot of racing was going on. The numbers don't lie...Ray Stansberry

I've got to say this Ryan Bernal kid is impressive to say the least!!!!!!! Had the field covered a few weeks ago and blew a motor. Watching Bud and Bernal go at it has been awesome. I'm sure we will be seeing this kid in a 410 soon and I can't wait. Nice work Ryan Bernal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
