I guess you just don't have enough home grown racers to make a statement on their own then... In essence that's what your saying when you adopt for instance Cali's Walker, who by the way doesn't quite fit the conservative mold of you Penn fans, but you still call him Posse. That's funny, very. I'm thinking the Cali Walker fans just look at it as one of theirs out seeing how he can do against those East coast drivers, and he'll come home when he's done.

Please go tell me if Walker is a Pennsylvania regular? Please do some research before you post so you don't make a fool of yourself again.

Don't distract him, he's too busy frantically looking up Walker and Pittman's schedules to try and prove they aren't regulars in Pennsylvania.

Jealous?.. I'm a non wing old school guy, and I'm sure not jealous of any Pennsylvania winged modified sprint car fan. I'm a Hoosier by birth, and my dad ran there after the war... Over here on the left side we had a rivalry a lot like you guy's still have today, and for over 50 years. USAC versus the CRA and the AZ boy's and such. Trouble with that deal is that USAC came for a visit, stayed, then messed up the whole deal. My problem is not that I'm a big Outlaw modified sprint car fan, my problem is you need more home grown races to back up your Pennsylvania claim to fame.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I have no claims for fame in Pennsylvania. I don't even live there. I lived in California for 14 years and watched the 410 racing die right in front of my eyes. Because of my family's job we moved to Maryland and when we can we make a 150 minute - one way trip to the Grove.
My problem is why is it bad for more drivers to run here. Most drivers dream to race for a living and in Pennsyvlania it is possible. You run 100 races, 6 outlaw visits, 4 All-Star visits, 2 Speedweeks, the entire All-Star East circuit, and you can still go to Nationals and nearby Outlaw tracks. All of this on a less than Outlaw budget. Pittman, Henderson, and Walker came here to race and are weekly drivers. In fact the latter of the two haven't even left since the season began. The term "Posse" is simply a fancy way of referring to the Williams Grove regulars. It is no doubt that Pittman, Henderson and Walker established their roots elsewhere, but for now, this season they are Williams Grove regulars. That is their home turf. Lucas and Cody cut their teeth running WG and Lincoln every week and now they've moved on, we can't "claim" them anymore because they are no longer Williams Grove regulars.
No hard feelings.

Hawk, as a Pa fan, I couldnt have said it any better, very simple and too the point. It's a shame more folkes can't come and visit Central Pa to experience what we already know: As fans of 410 Sprint Car racing we are very lucky and fortunate to be blessed with so many great drivers ( whether "imported" or homegrown) and teams. I guess this topic has been beaten to death enough. Oh that's right, we will have the same discussions on this board all over again in July when the Outlaws come back to Williams Grove.

Of all the lies and nonsense that get told in these Posse vs. the World threads, this one is right up there. The lack of racing history some of the people bring into these threads is staggering at times. Like everything else in life, money attracts the best workers. Jack Gunn made central PA the place to be in the 1970s by paying the best purses. Those drivers you listed would have dominated any place they chose to race. They chose to race in PA because the money was better than anywhere else. Former racer Van May even said that himself when he used to post on this board.
By your logic, drivers show up at the Knoxville Nationals at the King's Royals because it is easy pickings and not because those races pay $150,000 or $50,000 to win.

You have a better chance of seeing God walk through the front gate then having a Posse member show-up to the Dirt Cup and run. They won't leave the porch for $40,000 because the odds are totally stacked against them, but you will see Midwest guy's make the tow. A speedweek for the boy's put's some money in the pocket of these drivers. Again no way are the Posse going to show-up to a track that's not obscure or a small track like they have to race out here on the West Coast.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

This is mecca. Left coast drivers migrate here, not the other way around.

And didn't see any outsiders tow to Port Royal for $30,000 either for the Dream Extreme race. That would have been easy pickings for outsiders, since the locals can only run one track. But no outsiders showed for $30K to win.
I trust we will see some Skagit/PNW regulars on hand for the National Open and $50K to win? After all, the National Open is run when just about every track in the country is done with their season, or at least done with their points season.

Poor Posse... nothing to brag about over the next two months of the WoO season. Isn't it odd how these threads only fire up after a show at the Grove?
By the way, CONGRATS to the WoO for having more than the Posse in the top five for the 8th time in the last 9 WoO events at The Grove.

Actually, being a former left coaster I still have some strings out there, and I'm hearing that California's Trey Starks is planning on running the National Open. On that note, it's pretty dissapointing that Eldora has an All-Star race that weekend.
Since a CA guy started this argument, I'll just say...I doubt Trey's trip through the midwest and east will be worse than Allard's last year. Less than stellar would be putting it lightly.

Who's the Cali Guy? Hell, I though you were from Penn. I was born in Indiana, but have lived in Cali (Ascott), AZ (Manzy) Wash, Org, NM, and now back in AZ. I spent more than a few Saturday nights at Skagit in the early to mid eighty's when they ran the track heavy and before they were so locked down. Loved the Supers they ran up there at that time too.
Will Steve and Stevie Smith always be Posse no matter where they live?
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Was referring to the other poster that was talking about Dirt Cup and the lack of Posse there...
As long as Stevie continues to label himself as Posse and runs most of his shows in Pennsylvania, he will be "Posse".

If Stevie moved to Washington State and ran Skagit all season, he'd still be Posse..See my point?
