Will the new ASCS 360 series in Cali make it through the year? Only 4 cars at Santa Maria. The funny thing is the Racin Boys said when they were here in Feb. that 410 racing is dead in Cali and 360's are the future. Well, if 4 cars is the future ... it does not look too good.
Long live 410's!

They had somewhere around 15 cars at the first ASCS SoCal show at Hanford. I love 410 racing but that doesnt change the fact that the ASCS will only grow out here. As for Santa Marias ASCS show, it was the weekend of the Bradway at Chico, Petaluma was running wing 360s and there was a winged 360 show at Placerville. There are only so many cars out here to spread around and since Santa Maria is the furthest south that any of these winged teams goes, well I didnt really expect a great turnout. Now for the KWS race at Santa Maria on the 21st I expect a good car count as there have been good numbers so far with the series and we will get cars like Tarlton and Eliason amongst others that are part timers with KWS I would imagine.

Oh and another thing the combined Ocean Sprints and ASCS SoCal race at Tulare a couple weeks ago was outstanding! No complaints from me whatsoever.

To many divisions at so many tracks with so few sprint cars.

Trophy Cup at Tulare in October was a pretty good indication of how many winged 360s are around. I counted well over 60 from California and noted that about 20 cars and drivers I knew of had not towed down (mostly from north of Sacramento)...
The total number of non-wing 360s (including spec sprints) in the state seems to be about 100 or so, as well...
It looks to me like there are about 40 each winged and non-winged 410s floating around in California, as well. Anyone out there have more precise #s?
