I sure hope Skip hasn't retired, but given the state of the economy and all, I could certainly understand if he has.
As S.H.S. said above, Skip has been a fan favorite at Knoxville for years, and especially with the kids. He has always been great about posing for pictures, giving autographs, letting kids sit in his car for pictures, visiting with fans, etc.
Both my grandsons were extremely disappointed to hear that Skip might not be back in action this year. (One of my grandsons was such a great fan of Skip's that at a young age he would cry when Skip didn't win.)
If this is true, and you see this post, Skip, thanks for all the great memories and everything you have done for the sport over the years. We will all miss you, and if you want to come back and race, I hope something turns around for you and you are able to do so. Everyone would certainly welcome you back with open arms.
