Now 12 winners in 14 races in central PA as Leppo becomes 2nd repeat winner! And no Porn in Victory Lane!
Definately the best race i've seen so far this year, even if it was rain shortened & at Lincoln! LOL I attribute the good racing to the TIME TRIAL format...I love seeing the fastest guys on the track battling each other all race long vs. watching a couple guys trying to come from the back.
Awesome racing for the lead with Pittman & Leppo, as well as the rest of the top 5...the cautions delayed the program quite a bit. And the 1st fuel stop of the year too!
Surprise of the night was Stevie Smith being a non factor, I haven't seen the 1z look that bad since Sean Michael was in it. It was a shame to see Buckwalter out early, he's looked damn good the last few weeks.
It was announced tonight that Darrah, Wolfe & Tim Shaffer will run the Sunday Lincoln show in 3 weeks. As long as I don't run out of beer at the Grove, I think I will attend!

ABBOTTSTOWN – Brian Leppo took the lead from Daryn Pittman on lap 17 and then held on for the Spring Championship win at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night. The New Oxford driver became the second repeat winner of the season in the 410 sprint-cars and earned $4,000 in a car owned by Floyd Swope and wrenched by Steve Smith Sr.
“I’m very happy with the way we’ve started out the season,” Leppo said. “I was trying to be a little conservative and race smarter when I was behind Daryn. Then when Greg (Hodnett) drove by me, it totally changed the plan. I had to step up and do something different in order to win the race.”
Mechanicsburg’s Doug Dodson started on the pole and grabbed the lead at the start of the 30-lap main event. Pittman started second and drove by Dodson to lead the first lap. Leppo drove into second.
Aaron Ott’s second turn spin brought out the caution flag on lap two. He collected Brad McClelland, Lance Dewease and Mark Smith.
Leppo looked inside of Pittman for the lead in turn three, but Pittman led lead lap four.
Steve Buckwalter and Brian Montieth got together on the frontstretch on lap five. Buckwalter lost a front wheel and hit the inside wall, while Montieth continued. They were racing for fifth.
On the restart, Fred Rahmer and Hodnett drove by Dodson. Hodnett would get by Rahmer for third.
Hodnett and Leppo would trade second spot with Leppo eventually securing the position. He once again challenged Pittman for the lead.
Doug Esh stopped on the frontstretch on lap 14 to bring out another caution flag.
Leppo and Pittman were side-by-side at the flagstand on lap 17. Leppo was inside of Pittman in turn one and was the new leader off turn two.
Derek Sell spun in turn three and Gerard McIntyre Jr. and Adam Wilt spun in turn two bringing out the caution again.
Rahmer took fourth from Montieth on the restart, but Brad McClelland hit the first turn wall on lap 19 to slow the action again.
Over the next four laps, Pittman kept driving in low and sliding across the middle of the corners. He stayed right with Leppo.
Dewease’s second turn spin brought out another caution flag on lap 23 and then the red flag was displayed for a fuel stop. It began to rain during the fuel stop and the race was called official with Leppo scoring the win.
Pittman earned $1,800 for his runner-up finish. Hodnett ($1,300); Rahmer ($1,100) and Montieth ($925) completed the top five. Dodson, Alan Krimes, Jimmy Siegel, Cory Haas and last place starter Tyler Walker completed the top 10.
Krimes set fast time over the 30-car field with a lap of 13.338. Brent Marks, Chad Criswell and Brad McClelland won the 10-lap heat races.
