Danielle Ossenfort – She's Got Her Groove Back

NEWTON (April 14, 2011) – After almost two years off the track, Danielle Ossenfort jumped back behind the wheel last weekend at the I-80 Speedway at Raceway Park in Greenwood, Nebraska, for the I-80 Cup, a two day event featuring the ASCS Midwest Region Sprint Car Series.

Friday night was a big night for the twenty-two year old from Rapid City, South Dakota, as she climbed back into her Knology #10D. "I knew that I just needed to hold the pedal to the floor and stick it in there, or I'd be too hesitant. So, that's what I did, and I think it helped me be more aggressive for the rest of the weekend," Danielle said of her hot laps.

Danielle took her time as she got back into the swing of things for her heat race. She would drive her #10D to a seventh place finish. "The track was pretty rough and bumpy. I think everyone was trying to find the right line to avoid as many ruts as they could," said Danielle.

Danielle had one more race to help her get her groove back. She and her Knology #10D would finish with a solid ninth place finish to end the night. "I don't feel like a did very well, but I did make the B-Main and I got a few more laps in to get rid of some of the nerves that I had," Danielle said of her night.

Saturday night was a different story for Danielle! She was used to her car again and ready to drive and do well. She lucked out, getting the kind of track that she most prefers, "The track was dry and it cause quite a few accidents in the heat races. However, I prefer the track to be dry and smooth, as opposed to rough and tacky." And it showed as Danielle drove her #10D to a sixth place finish, earning her a fourth place starting position in the night's B-Main. Although Danielle would finish the race in ninth place, she lost a right rear shock and she was not able to make the A-Main.

"Even though I had some bad luck and I was getting used to the car again, I would say that the entire weekend was definitely a success! I got a few laps under my belt and I am ready to race more this summer!"
