I have a blog on my site http://360.yahoo.com/racerush66 about Gary Wright. It is quite possible it could all come to an abrupt end for the many time champion. According to an article in the "Daily Oklahoman" newspaper http://newsok.com/article/3052500 Wright would sell it all and call an end to a great career. Please stop by http://360.yahoo.com/racerush66 and check out my blog. New photos will also be posted soon. Take care and enjoy the races..........

Gary Wright is the best 360 driver in the nation. And it's always great to see the best. But it's not like he just wins a lot or whatever...........he completely destroys the field.........maybe not every night, but look at every ASCS National race so far this season. The guy is on fire. Whereas many can win on any given night..........the 50k championship is lookin kinda bleak to many teams. The guy has 3 provisionals to use and I wold be suprised if he used more than 1 in the entire season.
So when it is said that it would be a blow to ASCS if he quit........I have to disagree. It would throw the championship wide open and guys that wouldn't normally consider it would start soon. Like in the past Chuck Swenson, Dustin Daggett, etc. If Wright retired I think about 10 to 15 guys would actually assault the whole tour. I'm just saying it would open everything up to where drivers outside of D. Stewart and Wayne and Jason Johnson would actually have a really good shot at the championship.
But these long ass hauls to New York and Arizona are a bit ridiculous. I mean good for fans up there that they get to see quality drivers from far away but I imagine a lot of drivers considered the whole tour................and then didn't when they saw that.

WOW ! Just what this New York fan didn't want to hear with less than a week before the Bully Hill NY sprint nationals. I remember a few years ago at the first or second Bully Hill race how it was one of the organizer's dream to one day have the likes of Gary Wright to run in that race. Still hope this will be that year! Will it be a blow to the ASCS? Probably not nationally but ASCS Patriots are just starting their second year and ASCS Mid-Atlantic is in their first year. I'm sure things of a national scope were promised ( the following week is the ASCS East Coast Nationals at VA Motor Speedway) and if the National cars don't show ,it's not going to sit too well. This is a NATIONAL SERIES,so if you're gonna talk the NATIONAL talk, you'd better be prepared to do the NATIONAL walk! Just a sprint car fans view

No need to worry, Gary Wright will be in New York next weekend and then in Pennsylvania and Virginia the following weekend.

Wright informed me back in March that he would sell it in a heartbeat if a buyer came along and offered him the money so this is no news. I figure Gary will finish out the season as there aren't "for sale" signs plastured all over the place on his stuff.
If you stop and think about it, any track, series or race team is for sale if the price is right.
