QUOTE BELOW FROM FARIA TEAM MEMBER AT VENTURA. WAS HOPING THAT DANNY COULD START THE B AS HE WAS CHARGING HARD IN HIS HEAT BUT GOT IN A SHUNT ON THE BACK STRETCH AND FLIPPED. WITH A 10 PM CURFEW AND SO MANY CLASSES THEY COULD NOT WAIT FOR ANYBODY. GREG TAYLOR LED 29 LAPS BUT ON THE LAST LAP DEREK BUCKLEY, AKA "THE ANIMAL" PULLED A DESPIRATION SLIDE JOB ON TAYLOR GOING INTO 4 AND PUT THEM BOTH IN THE FENCE. NAYLOR'S COMMENT, "THESE GUYS ARE RELATED, SO I WONDER WHAT THE SITUATION WILL BE LIKE AT THE FAMILY THANKSGIVING TABLE". RUTHERFORD 3RD AT START OF LAST LAP GOES ON TO WIN! SPENCER WINS, RUTHERFORD WINS! GETTING MONOTONOUS, NO?
REPORT ON RICK HENDRIX SAYS RICK RECOVERING AT HOME, ARM HEALING BUT HEAD INJURY A SERIOUS ISSUE.
We were about 2 min from rolling the car out, and they told us they weren't gonna wait.
They ran the B, then had a ten minute break before the next race. WTF?
Oh well there is always next week.

Wish they could have given you guys a few minutes. Typical. Want to see Danny have a good run at Ventura. Hope to see the team at the beach soon.

Actually every effort was made to wait for Danny. At pushoff time there were only three cars in attendance, so the time was already running long. As we all know, "the show must go on". Hope to see, Danny Faria, in the future. Ray

If the sprint cars are the show at Ventura. you would think they would made every opportunity to give a premier driver like Danny Faria a chance to make the main event, especially with a smaller than usual car count in attendance. It is good for the fans of sprint car racing, who pay their hard earned money to see the show. It is also a gesture of good will to show someone who towed a long way to make your show that you appreciate their effort. The VRA could have easily adjusted the schedule to make more time to get Danny on the track. I'm sure the modifieds or dwarf cars or senior sprints would have had no problem with hitting the track a little earlier in the evening. Now that would have been "every effort" to keep the show moving. If they were so concerned about not being able to get the show in, they should have never added the modified class to the card.

Or maybe ventura was doing faria and the other drivers a favor. Flipping two cars in two nights, three in two nights gets expensive

I didn't know it was acceptable to bend the rules, as long as the guy is a fan favorite.

Not saying that it should but it does....

Support the guys who run your series every week. Appreciate the guys who tow in to run with you from time to time.
Make all of them play by the same rules.
Sometimes you get screwed, sometimes it works out in your favor but its the same for everyone every week.

So why did the Ford Focus guys get screwed out of a main on 3/19/11? Did they not pay the same for a pit pass as everyone else? the schedule was changed that night...Sure that was to benefit a whole division, but what was gained and who gained out of making the change in the schedule? My point is, things have been adjusted to benefit particular drivers in the past, especially front runners.
If you want Danny or any other great driver to show up at your track more often, and give a better show for the FANS, you can make some small concessions for all the work his crew and other volunteers were doing to get him back onto the track. It wasn't like he was asking to start pole in the semi, he just wanted a chance.
Maybe thats part of the reason the stands have been less than half full the last few seasons, and not 80-90% full as they have been earlier in the decade.
