Just a few comments - 21 cars??? At Perris? Better hope John and Sharon Jory stay involved in sprint cars, or the field will shrink by over 10%!

Next race May 7th at Hanford? Wow, Don K. really meant it when he said he was cutting back on USAC shows this year!

They might want to think about having the ASCS over in AZ or Usac 360 series make an appearance at the PAS this year...............I agree 21 cars only the third race of the season. SLOWLY SLIPPING AWAY

A lot of hurt and wounded cars on the track. We really need to show our appreciation to the teams for being there. They are under no obligation what so ever to show up. They realize that if they don't show up the Kavarians will not have an event to sell and we may not just lose a track. We may lose a sport.

Score: Cal Smith broken motor

Seth Wilson broken kneecap.

Danny Sheridan severely bent chassis.

Johnny McCool lots of small bits broken on car.

Nic Faas broken motor.

John Jory/Williams family multiple motor problems.

I am sure that their are many others that are racing with what they have left in the shop. I'm just guessing, but I think that only eleven cars completed the main event.

Ronnie Gardner hurt his car pretty bad too last night and that I'm sure was a huge dent in their pocket. Technically only 8 car's finished the race. Grunkmeyer tangled with a couple of car's attempting to lap him racing for position coming to the checkered that ended up with a DNF for Sheridan, Alexander , and himself as well. With that said the race was still somewhat of a barnburner especially between Cardey and Mitchell and after stopping and going to the rear Sheridan, VanderWeerd and Alexander. Everyone is still waiting for Faas to be the threat we know he will be at the end of race's when they shake the monkey off their backs. Everyone loves to see a full field of car's but regardless you can't argue the quality of the first 3 race's so far.

Personally for me when I go to a race track, I look at the Fan Attendance. At first I thought it was kind of low. By ends night, I thought the stands where half full. Many times when I looked at Ventura's fan attendance I thought it was really low. I have only gone to one race this year. Hope to make a few more.

For me I enjoyed the racing. I thought it was quite good. Fan attendance was Ok and car counts were down/low. Rumor has it, we might not have any more 410 racing. So if this is true, you better go now, because it might not be here tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Larry "O"

I find it kinda funny...all i read about how 410 are done and 360's are the future. Did anyone think of what car's california may loose if the 410 die? Not all the 410 team are going to junk there motors to buy 360's. Take a poll people...ask around the pits at a usac race. How many usac teams have a 360 engine? How many of them would be willing to buy one? Just making a statement to all the 360 lovers out there. Hate to see some of the best teams in the country fall by the wayside. Me personally I don't really care i've crewed on both 360's and 410's. Im gonna go racing either way.
