Ask Knoxville and midwest305sprintcars.com
Why people ask questions on here gets me.

Seems to me that if you make weight, you'll be OK. But I'd check with the tracks or association involved....

It's a sprint car message board. It's open to all things sprint cars including questions about what is allowed to be run at certain shows and series. Now if he were asking questions about the horse show at the Iowa and Missouri State Fair then that would be a problem.

Why in the world would you race a 305 and spend the money on a Carbon Fiber body?

Still cheaper than a 360....When you don't have to buy a $30K motor to keep up, you can have nice things like carbon fiber bodies.

How about a polished titanium body with a 3100 V6 straight from a four door Lumina. Now that would be cool especially if the body came from China!

My guess would be he bought a used car and thats what it has on it.
As to the original post you will be fine with a carbon body. Just make weight and no one will give a shit about anything else.

Actually that would look pretty good, especially on my XXX!!! Really don't think that would fall into the "cheaper than a 360" category I was mentioning, but ok...... Are you sure you are a sprintcar fan, or do you just get bored and log on here once in a while? I haven't seen you say a whole lot of positive things toward the sport??

What is really sad is that minthess claims that he IS a sprint car fan. If it were up to him there would be nothing but 410's with the most expensive components and only the worlds best drivers in only American equipment. Which must mean that he wants to watch the 6 fastest, wealthiest racers on the planet race without any also rans. Sounds like some great racing to me. In fact I think that it already exists. It's called Formula One, only without the dirt!

Knoxville's rules say you can't have carbon fiber seats or any carbon fiber in the suspension or driveline. Midwest's just says no carbon fiber in the suspension and driveline. I think you should be ok, just check with officials just in case I am wrong though.

The way it was explained to me was that it couldn't be a "performance enhancing" part of the car. I don't see the body doing that, but who knows. The way the rules read you are good to go. I have seen a 305 run Knoxville with one of KKR's old cars, so they got away with it at least once!!

Yes, a carbon fiber body is legal in the Midwest 305 series. We ran one for the last 2 years. It came on the car that we bought, and found it took the rocks at Jackson better than fiberglass. We still weighed 1675# to 1700# on the scales at the tracks we ran.

Why not, The WoO have gotten way to expensive just as the ASCS has gotten more also. A 305 race is just awesome to see. And Carbon fiber looks cool.

You guys have me figured out for sure. I am not a fan of most modern day sprint car racing. I'm a huge fan of sprint car racing before 2000 when it wasn't the Chinese cookie cutter regulated watered-down stuff we have today. I commend your optimism and excitement while the sport continues to decline.

It is clear you only follow 410's since you see the sport as "declining". I started racing 360 sprints in 1999 and there are more cars in my area now than there were then. When you realize that 410's aren't the only sprintcars worth watching, you will start seeing a lot better racing. But what do I know, I just race them? The people not paying for it (like you) are the ones who know what is best for the sport.........

I might get a little nasty sometimes but why is it unreasonable for me to want 1 yes just 1 out of the umpteen classes of sprint cars to be truly radical. I see a huge need for many spec classes. Who is being unreasonable.... the guy that says ALL have to be regulated and "affordable" or a guy like me that says all but one division should be deballed?
