Brown claims 6th in Knoxville Round 2

By Gary Thomas

Knoxville, Iowa - May 9, 2007...Grain Valley, MO driver Brian Brown was in action at Knoxville Raceway this past Saturday night for the second round of action in the Knoxville Raceway Championship Cup Series. "Blackjack" charged forward from mid-pack to score a solid sixth place finish aboard the Doogs Racing, Ditzfield Transfer, Housby Trucks, American Compressed Steel, Maxim Chassis No. 21.

Thirty-four 410 sprint cars were on hand for the second round of point race action at Knoxville on Saturday night and Brian began the evening by qualifying the Michael Ross Memorial Foundation, K & N Filters, Champion Brands, Hostiowa.net Maxim 15th quick with a lap of 15.165. "Blackjack" then drove forward to record a second place finish in the third heat race to transfer him into the main event.

Brian started from the seventh row in the 20 lap main and was on the move throughout the race. The 27 year-old carved his way through the field for a sixth place finish after 20 laps of action. Brian did this even with having a tire puncture after the first yellow and then had a radiator hose come off the motor on a lap 18 restart.

This Saturday will see Brian compete at the Knoxville Raceway in Championship Cup Night #3. Brian will go into the evening sitting third in points.
