ABOUT ADA
There are those wishing to run Ada again this year, and if you wish to talk to the promoters, let me know and I'll get you in touch with them. I would gladly see that deal keep working, but after last year..........................
At this time, i still have no interest personally to negotiate with OSP about a vintage exhibition. It's time for someone else to come forward and take the vintage part into a new direction.

WHAT'S NEW-
1. There is a beginning of serious talk of a very special show in Central Oklahoma. More to come later, but here's a few details
1. Display only (maybe some track time at distant track that weekend, haven't gotten that far yet).
2. The show will most likely have to fit in well with KAR's schedule and Vintage Texas Open Wheel's schedule. If there is a conflict in schedules, a date with the least impact upon anyone elses will have to be found.
More to come later, but right now "yours truly" is just a roadie on this one. A very impressive group of minds will be hammering out the map as to what the show is going to be and when, and 'if'- this idea has a great pulse, so keep working!

WHAT'S NEW PART 2-
Here's my delimna-
I stepped down from pursuing Ada right? WELL, CARS ARE STILL BEING BUILT AS WE SPEAK ANYWAY!
I feel I still have an obligation to go and find a suitable replacement in case Ada doesn't happen this year. I may have found it.
Halfway between OkC and DFW is LAKE COUNTRY SPEEDWAY IN ARDMORE, OK. They are trying to build up their car count and crowd count as well.
They plan to run 3 weeks on, 1 week off and are LOOKING FOR SOMETHING VERY MUCH LIKE US!
3/8 mile track, yet more like a little 1/2
Lots of parking
Right off of I-35
AC power in the pits
I talked to them today and will be getting in touch with them again soon.
PS- I always knew that if Ada or any other show fell apart, LCS, Ardmore was right in my backyard. Yup- ah sho 'nuff did!
Now maybe the time. more later

Like I said, get yer stuff ready - I'll have three cars to choose from when the season comes in. The electricity is mounting. I know of four projects right off the top of my head that have not been reported here...yet.
Looks like this "Vintage Movement" here is not going to die afterall!

I really like the fact that those tracks and VTOW are working together. I drove by the Waco track last year and thought about what an awesome sight that could be with the vintage cars out there. Right off the interstate too!
Kennedale is great too, excellant location, great everything from what I have known. I really need to get my act together and make the shows like that.
Strange thing is- The bigger the access to the newer stuff in towns like those, the better response from the crowds on the older stuff like ours! I find it harder to impress the people from my little 'burg, than it is in the DFW area and OkC! Knowing that the little "burgs follow the bigger towns over time, means that someday someone from around here, will come up and try to educate me on the "vintage race car movements" in The Big Towns! LOL

By the way Dan,
"Thank you" for what you have been doing. You've been letting many of us know what's coming these days, and it is a big help for all of us.

Brian don't beat yourself up about this vintage racing in Okla. Things usually take 4-5 years to get things started around here. If we had a contest about permoting vintage racing, you would take the checkered flag. Keep your head up, you are a hero to me for trying. Lets go sling some mud. I have your back.

I will be there when the event opens at 10am and be there all day. I will spend most of my time with the VTOW cars. If you miss me stop by again and I will probably be there. I look forward to meeting you.

Dan - I didn't get a chance to meet you...you were out walking the show. But I did get a good look at your car...great looking piece and the history behind it is very interesting. Catch you another time, perhaps.

Looks like I'll have to spraycan my next car to have it ready, again..........Someday there will be time, a place, and materials to paint it all with
at the same time! When is the next blue moon anyway?

The Murphree brothers and myself showed our cars at Kennedale Speedway Park last Saturday night to promote our vintage event there on June 25th. To see pictures and videos please go to www.texasopenwheel.com site.
We had a blast. The staff at this track went out of thier way to make us feel at home. The track is great. If you have a vintage car please add June 25th to your calendar.
